So many phones. So many choices. So little time.
Running out of shopping days and ready to get all those gifts wrapped and placed under the tree? The folks at PC Magazine made a list you might want to check once or twice for some sure-to-please hits from Sprint.
Palm Pre, Novatel Wireless MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot and HTC Touch Pro2 on Sprint each earned a spot on PC Magazine’s round-up of “The Best Tech Products of 2009.”
Leave a comment if you agree with these choices or if you prefer a different phone. Samsung Reclaim continues to build a loyal following from many fans, including Oprah. Samsung Moment and HTC Hero, the first two Sprint Android phones, could be good options for anyone interested in checking out some 20,000 available applications.
But Dec. 25 will be here before you know it. So in the interest of not tarrying, here are a few quick facts on why the Pre, the MiFi and the TouchPro2 were declared wonders of the 2009 technology season.
The gadget gurus at PC Magazine picked Palm Pre for having the “Most Innovative New Platform.”
• With the new webOS platform and a feature called Palm Synergy inside, Palm Pre helps ease the transition between work and personal life. You can bring together your personal and professional calendar, contacts and email into one centralized view.
• Many consumers have been won over by the ability to keep multiple activities open and move easily between them like flipping through a deck of cards. You can move back and forth between text messaging and e-mail, or search the web while you listen to music.
• Palm Pre is available for $149.99 with a new two-year service agreement, after $150 instant rebate and $100 mail-in rebate (excluding taxes).
Novatel Wireless MiFi 200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot was tops in the Networking category.
• Think of it as a hotspot that fits in your pocket. Not much bigger than a credit card, the Wi-Fi router can provide Internet access over Sprint’s 3G network for up to five devices at a time.
• Students, business travelers and others all are enjoying the MiFi because it is so portable and simple to use.
• Novatel Wireless MiFi 200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot is available for $49.99 with a new two-year service agreement, after a $50 instant rebate and $100 mail-in rebate (excluding taxes).
HTC Touch Pro2 emerged as the Best Business Smartphone.
• PC Mag crowned it “the king of Windows phones in the U.S,” saying it stood out as a powerful phone with a huge touch screen, a good keyboard and other features, including an improved speakerphone.
• HTC Touch Pro2 is available for $349.99 with a new two-year service agreement, after a $150 mail-in rebate (excluding taxes).
And if you already have finished your shopping for others, maybe you’ll want to pick up one of these as a present for yourself. You’ve been good this year, right?
Enjoy the MiFi without having to worry about a contract or 5GB limit.
I've had the PRE since launch day and while it's not perfect I can't imagine how I would live without the multitasking ability.

Sprint's Touch Pro 2 suites me fine. I've owned it for about a month now, and, although, I can't say it's used as a "business phone" I like the size, feel, performance, keyboard, and display of this beauty.
