I know this is too early to tell but do you guys think Sprint will carry the new HTC Dragon (dubbed “Zoom 2″) that will come with 1GHz Processor and HTC Sense UI? Also the screen resolution is 800×480 which is impressive. Let me know what you guys think, i'm debating if I should get the Hero or wait to see if Sprint will carry the Dragon.
I thought the Dragon was GSM, I could be wrong mind you.
Get the Hero, even if it isnt GSM, I have not heard anything about it landing on Sprint.
There's always something new coming out...can't wait forever. ![]()
lowest priced high speed data network(cdma) + a phone with a computer this big(1ghz processor) = unquestionably the best price to get EVERYTHING YOU COULD want on a cell phone
this is how sprint and verizons cdma blow away 1 billion gsm subscribers and all the phone makers.
connect this phone to only sprints data network and get ..... gps, unlimited texts, tether your phone to your computer for internet access, u can add skype and unlimited calling for like $3 a month, sprint tv ... and u can even go further then this ...for example connect the phone to a wifi router ... for internet on all your computers ... wifi phones ............... u can get a satalitte tv program for satilite tv channels ...i'd use your data sparingly but whatever ..

Being that Sprint wont be getting the HTC HD2, maybe HTC Dragon is the Android version and maybe that is destined for Sprint, as the HD2 is most likely than not going to T-Mobile USA when it gets here. If the Dragon can keep (or maybe even enhance) the specs of the HD2 (CAMERA WITH DUAL FLASH, VERRRRRRRY NECESSARY), then as an HTC HD2 Android phone, they would not be able to keep them in stock. Google will be upgrading to Android 2.0 in Q1(?), so this may be a coup that Sprint has up its sleeves. I already have admonished them for not having the HD2, maybe this is the reason they are not looking worried right now. If they are doing the HTC Dragon Android, they may can hold me but if they dont have a 4.3 inch screened phone on the horizon, then I will gladly pay the termination fees for the 2 phones on my account and head on over to T-Mobile for the HTC HD2 (although I so HATE Windows Mobile!!)!!!!!!!
I'm hoping that both the HTC Dragon and the Sony X10 comes to Sprint.
The Dragon is rumored to be on T-Mobiles network. Below is the list for all upcoming Android OS devices.
The Dragon or something like it will come to Sprint... it has to in order for them to stay competitive. Once 2.0 comes to the Hero I'll be happy until I can upgrade reasonably to a super phone like he Dragon... a lot of Hero owners probably feel the same way.
Even if we don't get the Dragon, Sprint will get something else with the same features/functions.
I definitely agree with you on this point. Altough whether I'm kepeing the Hero, or switching to the Moment is still up in the air. i have a few days left to decide. I had a chance to look and play with the Moment yesterday for 20 minutes or so, and I didn't really see any huge difference in performance, but the 3.5 mm stereo jack DID work in stereo, so that pretty much seals the deal for me, unless we get a firm upgrade date for the Hero by tomorrow, i'll be switching for that reason alone. I really don't feel like having to plug/unplug my $100 earbuds repeadedly every time I want to listen to some music in stereo, and the physical keyboard is a plus, although not absolutely necessary.... As for the Moment being larger, I wasn't overwhelmed at all. Face it, when you're coming from a heavily beat-up, 3 year old BlackBerry 8703e, anything feels thin. Same goes for the "perceived build quality" of the Moment compared to the 8703e, especially with the super-glue and duct-tape holding it together! LOL.
I've never owned (ok, never even TOUCHED or knowingly LOOKED at) a Samsung phone before, and I know there were nightmares in regards to the Instinct, but I'm hopeful. (For that matter until last month I'd never even touched/looked at an HTC handset either.)
Either of these phones will take me to Oct/Nov of 2010 just fine as long as Samsung & HTC get these phones updated to a 2.x version of Android. (I doub you will be able to FIND an Android phone with less than a 1GHz processor, or equivalent, unless they are the $1/free promo phones a year from now... Certainly nobody is going to be paying $99+ for one of these with a 2 year contract.)
I figure I'll be on my second Android by the time my old carrier (US Cellular) gets their first Android phone. ![]()
Fun Fact #1.....The Samsung Moment was originally named the Samsung Instinct Q. Due to issues with the Instinct, Samsung dropped the name altogether. Wise choice. Before commiting to the Moment, read up on the known issues with it. In my opinion it has more issues than the Hero. But, on another note, my Hero really doesn't have most of the issues that other people report. The battery issues is about it.
