Calendar in the Pre

As a newbie with the Pre, one of the reasons I bought it was so that I could get rid of the Palm I carry around with me and a phone and just carry a phone. However, I cannot figure out how to enter appointments in the calendar in the Pre. Is that possible? Or do you have to enter all your appointments in the computer and then Sync it to the Palm Pre? Please help?

Also, is there an easier way to get to the contact you need in the phone book when you want to make a phone call? Scrolling down over 100 names is a real pain.

Thank you.

Re: Calendar in the Pre

If you open a calendar day and tap a time slot you can start entering the calendar appointment.  If you click on the i in the circle, you get a screen where more details can be entered.

Re: Calendar in the Pre

Are you asking the first question because you cannot sync when entering your appointments on the phone?  Like it does not goto google's calender when you enter it directly in the phone's appointment book?  If so you will have to update your WebOS to be able to sync with google.  I had that problem and had to call support, Palm web Os 1.2.1. cures this problem.  You can do this by opening your keyboard and type update.  The launcher should show an update icon.  Click it and have it download, then run it.

If you just don't know how to make an appointment.  Press the calander icon that shows the number of the day on if when you are on the main screen.  This will open your calender book.  From there you can flip through the days by swiping you finger left and right on the touch screen.  Find the day and tap the hour slot, type the description and then press the i to add more hours to the appointment and stuff like that.

Your second question's answer is just open the keyboard and start to type the name in.  It should pull up the matches to how much text you have typed.

Hope this helps.
