On several occassions lately, I have been experiencing problems with the web not working. Just getting the default homepage loaded is difficult. I often get a message stating "connection failed." I'll try several times to get the default page to load (or even the page of news links) and each time I will get the connection failed message. I've also been getting a gateway timeout error several times.
In order to resolve this issue, I have to turn the phone off and then turn it back on. I know that this "power cycle" fixes the problem, but the question is why can't the web application just work the first time around? Why are these error messages coming up so often?
I do have Opera Mini and Bolt installed as alternate browsers, but sometimes, I haven't been able to get those to work either.
So, just after I finished typing this message, I went to the Sprint Digital Lounge and had the link for Pandora sent to my phone.
I attempt to navigate to the Pandora link on the phone and guess what --- I get a connection failed message. FOUR attempts were made to connect to the link to download Pandora. ALL four attempts resulted in the connection failed message. I turned the phone off and back on and at least got the phone to connect to the link for Pandora, but then I got a message that the download failed. So, altogether it took SIX attempts to download this application.
i'm thinking network issue as sprint is going through a lot of user turnover right now; switching, dropping, and new user activations. i have a feeling that this will continue through the holidays. if i remember correctly, last year around this time there were similar issues.
Not sure if this will help any at all but the prl updated to 60656 today....
I updated the PRL, so I will see if this helps.
Some the connection failed message has been going on for a while now, but hopefully the PRL update fixed this.
You not the only one gettin this problem I called sprint about it and they say they have no control over it because its a third party so if anybody know how to fix this plzzz let us know
The "third party application" seems to be the standard response from Sprint. Anytime I write to Sprint customer service about any issue with the phone, they always write back and say that it's a third party application. How can the default web browser be a third party application?
