Htc Hero Weather

I got the Hero on Thursday and the weather app was working on the the home screen, but I noticed yesterday it wasn't updating at all unless I went into the app and hit refresh.

I restarted the phone last night and the weather disappeared from the home screen and hasn't returned since.  I have turned the phone on and off a few times and even taken the battery out and put it back any.

Any ideas on how to get it back?

Thanks.

Re: Htc Hero Weather

Touch the widget on the weather. This will open up the larger weather. Click menu>settings. Is update automatically selected? If it is then try deleting the widget and adding it again.

Also go to menu>setings>location> and see if Use wireless networks and location settings are checked.

Re: Htc Hero Weather

Are you by chance using a Task Killer app? There has been much dialog back and forth regarding the use of app/task killers. I personally stopped using mine and my widgets are updating like they should and the phone doesn't seem to be any slower. I do a soft reset daily to help keep it running smooth. Just a thought...

Are you on wi-fi? I also have an issue where the weather updates when it feels like it. Mine seems to update when I change locations.

Re: Htc Hero Weather

I had the same thing happen last night. I tried restarting a few times. Finally it came up. I am not sure if it uses the "towers" to get your location. It may be a network thing where you are not in a definite location? Anyway if it makes you feel any better you are not alone with this issue.

Re: Htc Hero Weather

You could try that but you will lose all of your contacts and settings.
