Thanks Guys

Finally financially able and decided to make the switch.

Come next thursday, i'll be the new owner of another phone,

For those of you who have helped me with any issues, thanks.

My kid will be getting my phone, so keep on these guys to get things done.

I'll check in from time to time and post any issues my boy has...He's not too picky.

Sprint is my carrier, so that's not an issue, but it's going to be a long day for sure.

Pre, HD, Hero, Moment, TP2.....decisions-decisions...lot's of playing to do...

All phones have their problems, so we'll see who comes out on top...

Thanks Guys

Re: Thanks Guys

I am in the same boat.  Made the switch to the Hero a couple of weeks ago.  My wife still has the Instinct and likes it.  Good luck to everyone.

Re: Thanks Guys

My upgrade is in Jan. but I do not think I am upgrading.  Do I want out of the Instinct (m800)? YES!  Do I want to agree to another 2 yr contract? NO.

The original Instinct is basically dead, I dont expect much more out of it.  It is a nice phone though...could have been much better by opening it up for developers.  I am not sure if we will continue service at all though, we are seriously considering dropping it...more so due to financial reasons but the issues we have had somewhat lately still play a factor.  If we do decide to keep service, I will probably stick with the Instinct so I do not have to go into another contract again.

I think if you are in the middle of a 2 year contract (at one year) and use your upgrade...you should not have to recontract up again.  Either that or just do away with the Premier program altogether.

Re: Thanks Guys

Goygacon,

Dude, awesome. I honest to God cannot blame you for your choices. I had to take my Instinct into the repair shop today, because the touchscreen was failing, the calibration was totally off, Pandora was epically failing, and basically my phone decided to go straight to hades. I bought the phone in February and in November it dies! Dead on arrival. I was planning on smashing that thing on a YouTube video after my contract with it was over. To my bitter disappointment, they handed me a brand new Samsung Instinct. BOOOOOO. But I expected this. Too bad nobody at Sprint HQ got the memo about how bad this phone is.

However, I did play around with the new Samsung Moment for about 20 minutes. WOW! The Moment is freaking amazing! Blazing fast speed, a browser that actually works very well, the screen is gorgeous, and I liked the physical keyboard. My techno infatuation for this device is rising!

Goy, you were always one of my favorites to interact with. You brought a great sense of humor, honesty, persistency, and dedication to others on the forum. I will miss hearing your rants and some solutions you brought from time to time. But I'm honestly glad you are getting of this PO$ phone.

Good luck with your new phone of choice. If you want my advice, Samsung Moment. Fast processor, Android 1.6, browser works great, and its pretty neat overall. Figure what works for you but the Moment blew me away.

Take care.

Re: Thanks Guys

Goy don't feel bad. I am jumping to the Samsung Moment. I convinced my sister to get one as well. I think it is a nice upgrade and being a premier customer if I should get the itch to switch next year I can for a new phone in time for the holidays. I will be hanging on to my Instinct for a Music player in the car and back up phone for now. Hope to see you on one of the other forums and here if you come back and visit. Good Luck. Definitely get your hands on with all the phones. I think your decision will be clear once your do.

Re: Thanks Guys

thank you, really.  and good luck with your new phone.

i'm in similar boat.  my contract is up and my teen needs a phone, so i'm thinking about handing my instinct down and upgrading to a new sprint phone.

i got caught up with the tsunami of excitement about the new sprint android phones. so researched the heck out of android, and hero and moment, along with monitoring the discussion boards about them.  i then took a step back and wondered if i really want to spend the money.  how bad has the instinct been.  of course it hasn't been all roses and is a bit of a disappointment from the sprint instinct hype, but it's really not a bad phone at the moment.  (compared to other non-smartphones out there, it's really a pretty decent phone.)

i'm waivering now.  i'm thinking that i'll wait a bit longer before upgrading this phone.  my teen will just have to start out with one of the sprint entry phones.

might change my mind if the sprint andriod phones get the 2.0 eclair upgrade sometime this month.

Re: Thanks Guys

I ended up with the Moment and love it. I thought the HD was nice but this meets everything I could want. Glad we all found something worthwhile. Good luck guys!
