In January and February is when Sprint stated they will begin releasing 4g smartphones. Now, the problem with this is that the HERO is not considered a smartphone. So, we will see.

Hero is a Smart Phone. I just check.
Why would it be a "problem" that Sprint is planning to release 4G smartphones?
And why would you say the Hero is not a smartphone? Labels aside, what's missing from the Hero that would make it a smartphone in your book?
I'm puzzled. Is the iPhone not a smartphone because it does not truly multitask? Whatever.
The Hero is one heck of a device.
Are you thinking the Hero would be upgraded to 4G? This is not possible as 4G is a different technology and requires a different radio, read different hardware... than a CDMA/EV-DO device. The Hero does not have a Wi-Max radio, and therefore would be incapable of carrying a 4G signal.
Yes, in fact *no* existing smartphone can make the leap up to 4G unless it comes pre-built with the necessary technology and hardware. You must buy a 4G phone in order to carry the Wi-Max signal. Kind of a nice set up for Sprint, don't you think? The Hero is simply a 3G smartphone.

And you saw this where?
The HTC Hero and HTC Touch Pro 2 has the same processor as the old HTC Diamond ... whats the point of getting them? The big winner on sprint will be the 1ghz processor... until then why dont you get a used Diamond on ebay for one-sixth the price
...
and as far as the ''works out nicely for sprint'' comment ... if youre that far away from the goldmine which is sprint ... yea sprints gonna make it work out nicely for them ![]()
