Hero car charger is not charging :(

So i got the car charger for the hero , btw the carger was originally made for motorola and its not an official charger for hero but we can use it....

so everything was working great until today..... now the carger wont charge..... it seems like it has a contact problem but its really weird.. i tryed to bend, twist the cord and it did make some change but not always the same results! its weird.. and i cant find the way how to bend the cord to keep charge the phone. i got home the wall charger is working perfectly.

anyone ever experienced something like this? should i mess around with the car charger and make it fit tighter?.

Re: Hero car charger is not charging :(

Assuming your cable isn't going bad, I'd say that either the hero's female connector or the cable's male connector are a little out of spec, and they just don't play nicely together anymore. I've actually had some problems with intermittent disconnects with the HTC-supplied cable, so maybe this is a Hero problem? Anyone else notice this?

HTC does use a (supposedly backwards-compatible) connector rather than the standard mini-usb, though, so it's possible that the extra pins can just make it finicky with some cables.

yeah.. since the wall charger is working perfectly there is something wrong with the car charger's male connector.. the only problem that i paid almost 40 dollars for that thing and i refuse to pay a penny for it one more time...

Then you're stuck with a broken charger. Sorry.

You could buy a $2 one off eBay. I have a half dozen of them and they all work fine.

Well you can always drop $10 for a mini-usb one from walmart, unless your crafty with a pair of pliers or you are willing to guild your own male head...your pretty much stuck
