ASM, if you'd like to try an upgraded TF3D without a whole new ROM just yet. You could download the v2.1 version of manila that was ported from the Rhodium (TP2) I believe. I would backup all information to the SD card and then do a hard reset before installing. I actually ran it for a little over a week, pretty stable and clean.
Check it out here and if your up to it, I can tell you exactly what you need to isntall to get it up and working completely.

If your feeling even more adventuresome and would like to try winmobile 6.5 and a newer manila, we can go that route as well. First I would recommend you watch the following video that was recently posted on youtube,
Also, just came across the following port of manila v2.5, it's in its early stages but should come along pretty good in the not to distant future.
Thanks so much smotrs, I'll send you a message if I want to go down this route. I want to update my phone for now until I upgrade to a new phone.
wengla02, please post here after you upgrade your phone to a more current WM version and build. I'd be curious what you think. 6.5 build 23081 is such huge improvement for finger navigation over the first 6.5 release I'd be curious to hear your thoughts. I think the official release was 6.5 build 23016 or somewhere around there. Each new build is usually an increment of 8 or so, so there have been quite a few newer builds. I'd also toss on the newest touchflo although I still like spb pocket plus and spb phone suite but the HTC overlay is free.
I would guess after you try the new build and overlay you won't find much need for a stylus although having a larger screen like the HD2 would be even more helpful.
Agreed, previously, the only reason I used he stylus was when I was actually within the Windows apps. With the new manila overlays, I rarely pull the stylus out for any reason. Now the only time I use it is when I'm in the File Explorer browsing for the CAB I just uploaded to the phone.
That's funny cuz that's the same reason I joined.
I think Sprint should push this phone out fast as possible and skip the Sprint customizations that I think few use or care about. They should use the OEM/stock operating system and not spend time re-writing the OS or touchflo to or applications to restrict us from using our phones for what we want to use them for.
A CDMA HD2 would be awesome but I don't expect it from Sprint for a year, if that. I think you'll be joining TMobile in February.
If Sprint gets it... I hope this will be a "world" phone supporting the CDMA and GSM bands just like the Touch Pro 2 Now I don't want to buy the TP2 until I know if this will be available as a world phone (with Sprint)... but I will jump ship if it goes to another carrier!!! ![]()
I agree with you. If Sprint gets this phone it should be a world phone GSM and CDMA otherwise it's not worth it to get
I was going to upgrade my TP to TP2 or TD2 but with Touch HD2 on the horizon, I don't see the point of getting the upgrade. I will wait.

The one currently selling abroad is a "world" phone.....Somehow, Sprint has to get it!!!![]()
Unfotunately, it would probably be 6-9 months if not more before we would see it assuming Sprint actually put in motion obtaining it in the last few weeks. A CDMA version of the phone would have to get FCC approval, not to mention engineering from HTC to become reality.
Like others here, I've been with Sprint a long time, about 12 years. I've stayed with Sprint for two reasons, their older, low cost plan I'm still on, and the fact that they are, or used to be, relatively quick at getting the latest phones. It would be in Sprint's best interest to leak something about the HD2 if they plan to get it before T-Mobile or AT&T start announcing plans. Personally, I'll jump ship for the HD2 if Sprint doesn't get it, or gets it too late. This is especially true if there is no news of it coming to Sprint prior to it coming stateside. I would bet there are many others just like me.

All I want is a straight answer "yes" or "no". That way I can make a more educated decision before jumping ship. All we're getting are very ambiguous answers and speculation on both sides.
Was there any rep at Sprint or HTC that at any point gave you the slightest idea that Sprint would carry the HD2? Did they pay off the FCC to hide the approval of the CDMA version of the HD2? Have you purposely ignored every post on the topic so far that it leaves any hope in your mind that intelligent people are top execs at Sprint and in any way are aware of current cell phone technology or what their clients actually would like? Please feel free to reference any quote from someone other than the poser who claims he works for sprint and is playing with his "adonis" now.
