Im an employee of veterans affairs and the employee association. We were told by a local sprint rep that we could get a 24% discount. I then signed up for the 1500min plan(unlimited texting) May2009. Since then I have called/chatted monthly because I have NEVER received my discount. I have this 15% discount that shows up because they(sprint) think I am state of TN, which i have told them over and over I am not. Everymonth it is the same thing, Im ASSURED my discount will be on the next bill and it never is. I called Aug2009 and they adjusted my bill because I was so mad I was ready to cancel the contract. I called again and this time Im told there is a 2 billing cycle wait, which is totally the opposite of what I was told and I have the web chat to prove it. I feel as though Im being cheated, I have picture mail that I cannot use becuase even though I have free texting, I am charged data usage, which I was told I would not when I bought the phones. So im paying for services I cannot use!!!!!!! Im at the end of my rope, calling everymonth and pretty much being told Im lying about my discount. If I could change to another company I would but Sprint is the only carrier that picks up in my area so Im screwed! Anybody got any suggestions about what to do?? I do know several discussions about pic mail is a hot topic, and I wish i could get pic mail without being charged=i have a neice in the military and I would love to get pic of her!!!!!

If you are not following a link from your phone to get the pic message, then you shouldn't be charged for data. There is an existing issue with customer's getting charged data for pic mail even though they are actually using it correctly. The customers affected by this issue will be receiveing automatic credit and should be notified via text. If you think you may fall into the system error category, you should call care and they will have further information. It isn't something that Sprint has done, its simply a coding error that the techs are in the process of fixing.
As for your discount, call in to care and they will place a ticket in the system for your information to be sent to a department that can fix your discount. If you are considered to be in the state of tn, then perhaps your address is incorrect or they are simply locating the incorrect code for your discount...both of which are easily fixable. Give care a call, and they can take care of you. I know you're frustrated, but just give Sprint another chance so that you can find out more information about your discount or the proper discount can be added.
There is a 2 billing cycle wait period so that the system begins processing your request. I am sorry you were not told the correct information during your chat period. But there are departments that specialize in discounts and having care place the correct information in to get you to that department will be a big help. Also, about pic mail, maybe traveling to a store to have some time with an agent at the store will help ensure you are accessing your picture mail correctly and that you have the right plan with the right features based on your device.

Well I had the internet blocked on all my phones that i use so now I cant even try to use pic mail. I have done exactly as sprint told me, and still got charges, then was told that no matter what i do I will incur data charges because I dont have a data plan.
The discount has been bounced around since May of this year, and every month I have to call and tell them to look at past calls/web chats to see what I am talking about. They are mysteriously disappearing when I call as no one knows what type of discount I am telling them about. The represenative from sprint would never give the code to me so when I call I have to tell them to look. They eventually find it but then say it will be another 2billing cycles even though they have known about this ever since May. The represenative our company used has quit sprint and Im left in a pickle. We had an employee fair where sprint was to come but they didnt, and it seems that everyone is having the same trouble.
If you rep is gone, you might be able to call your HR folks and see what the discount code is. However, there is a HUGE spreadsheet that contains all the active discount information necessary for your discount to be on there. It could be that either your discount has changed or that they are forgetting a component. Have you ever been contacted about your discount by anyone other than care? There is a specific department that could troubleshoot it for you like I mentioned in my other post.
Also, what kind of device do you have? It could be that your device is one that requires data to be accessed to get pic mail? Let me know what kind of phones you have and I can help more on that end.
