I have the original SERO 500 plan with an IC502. I am looking to change to a Blackberry 7100i that I have as a spare since my IC502 has broken. I do not need all the additions (BIS or BES) that come with Blackberry, I just need to be able to talk and send messages with the phone. I have been told several different times for various reasons that I can not due this.
One reason was becasue the Nextel network and Sprint network use different technologies. This doesn't make any sense to me since I currently have Nextel and I am still going to a Nextel.
Another person told me that I needed a different plan for the Blackberry. I know multiple people who have Blackberries with SERO so this also does not make any sense to me.
Has anyone else been able to switch phones to a Blackberry on a SERO plan, and if so what did you have to do to accomplish this?
Thanks.
You would have to add the blackberry buy for 10.00 to your SERO plan. I don't think the coding for that pack is expired, so you can call care and have them add the right pack to your SERO plan. If you change plans entirely though, be aware that your plan is expired and you won't be able to add it back, so make sure you're clear about your request to only add the SERO plan blackberry buy up. That is, if you want that. Otherwise, you will have to change PP's entirely or get a different phone.
Don't quote me on this one, but I'm pretty sure this is a valid resolution for ya.
