Hi, just received a notice from Mugen Power that they now have a 1800mAh battery for Sprint HTC Hero. This is 20% more than the ooriginal battery so should give you couple of hours of additional use. Check it out here: http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/sprint/sprint-hero.html. Also, you can use a discount code to get 5% off: 5OFF2009.
Thanks for the great find!

Well, post here after you get the battery and see its performance after a week of charges. Maybe some pics of how well it fits in the Hero as well?
Thanks!!! I look forward to getting this battery, but don't need to throw away $30 if I don't need to.
I like that it's the same size as the original battery so there is no effect on the total size of the phone.
Has anyone tried this battery out yet? Impressions?

If you don't have to use a different battery cover, then this is a great find. Thanks.
I just saw the link for this battery and I am really close to getting it. It would be nice to have this phone on longer without charging it. I think all of these smart phones need to come with batteries that have more juice. These companies tout these phones as smartphones that could be used in our day to day lifestyle. Some more than others. If these companies want us to use these phones like this, they should come with better batteries. I love my Hero and the many capabilities of it, but the battery sucks. There is even a battery coming out with more juice than this battery. This would be the ideal one for me. The only problem with that battery is that is thicker than the original battery therefore needing a bigger cover for the back of the phone. Here is the link for that battery if anyone is interested: http://www.mobilecityonline.com/wireless/store/productdetail.asp?productid=25424&refid=froogle&utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=organic&utm_term=BACY35HHRSBK&utm_campaign=froogle
But for now, I will invest in this battery and see how it works. I will post my reaction once I have it.
IIRC the Sprint Hero comes stock with one of the larger capacity batteries for Android phones. Without doing a spec search, I do know it's more than the Euro Hero, might be bigger than the G1, and if the Driod is larger it's because there's a larger screen and more powerful processor to keep lit, so up-time might be a wash.
And now the 3200mAh battery is released too! Comes with a new cover: http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/sprint/sprint-hero/mugen-power-3200mah-extended-battery-hero-200-sprint-with-battery-door-in-brown.html
Very nice - thanks for the pointer!
Seidio also has an extended life battery out. It is 3500 and $10.00 cheaper than the Mugen 3200.
I purchased the battery and haven't noticed much of a difference. Has anyone else bought this battery? If so, what is your take on it?
Hello ext6ews,
Original battery capacity is 1500mAh and Mugen has 1800mAh, so it should provide You with 20% more usage time. Do not expect a double life from it. If You are not getting 20% additional usage time, please contact Mugen Power for replacement.
You can read comments on this battery by independent users here: http://androidforums.com/sprint-htc-hero/27678-mugen-power-1800mah-review.html.
Mugen Power,
I wasn't expecting double life when I bought the battery. I would have bought your 3200mAh battery if I wanted double life.
Yeah!
Hello ext6ews!
