Has anyone with the Samsung Exclaim, had problems with phone freezing up? 

I've had my phone for about 3 1/2 weeks. I like the phone's design and it's features but, all of a sudden it froze up on me. The first time I charged it up with the  phone cut-off and the next morning I unplugged it, it hasn't done right since. Now it's like a very slow computer, on delay. If I push a button I have to wait five minutes before it goes to it...really sucks!! Has anyone else had this problem and what happned? The only other thing I don't like about the phone, is you can't bluetooth ringtones to or from another sprint user.

I have not seen that behavior. I would definitely bring it in to Sprint to get looked at.

I've had my phone for about 2-3 weeks. I wouldn't call is blazing fast, but certainly not slow as you describe either. Sounds like something's wrong. Maybe it got into some funky debug mode? Might be worth doing a hard reset.

I found this forum by accident.

I was checking the web to see if anyone has had the same problem and voila!

I bout this phone when it was spankin new on the market and i must say i fell in love with it instantly.

Until, one day i was sending a message on Facebook and the screen froze and resembled the Matrix.

It came back so I didnt think twice about it.

A few days later it happened again. I thought to myself, its ok it will come back....which it did.

Then one day it went away and didnt come back.

I was furious. I went to the nearest sprint repair store and after 2 days recieved a new cell.

I was happy. But guess what....Same thing happened.

Now i am cell phoneless and headed to sprint today. I refuse to take another exclaim unless they can promise me this wont happen again. I originally wanted a blackberry but they have become so common now adays that they lost thier flare. And also, I have pretty big hands and the buttons are smaller on the bb compared to the exclaim.

 

So...to answer your question yes.

I have had this problem twice.

 

Also, I thought maybe it was because i was running more than one application,(music player, facebook) but no, the cell died last night and i was just setting my alarm. smh

Ok...So ......

I went to sprint explained my situation and they handed me a new Exclaim. No explanation, just "here"

 

I downloaded ( and i recommend everyone with this cell to do so) Opera Mini. it is a web browser.

I realized my cell only froze if i was running one of the social one click apps like facebook or myspace or twitter in the background or sometime while i was actually using it.

The Opera Mini is a web browser. It is amazing.

I saved it to my shortcuts and now i use that to surf the web. It took me 10 minutes to get the hang of it and i may never use the sprint browser again lol.

It is super fast and its extremely similar to the browser on the touch blackberry for verizon.

Take my word for it get this app. www.opera.com/mini 

I love my Exclaim again!!!!

I downloaded this and the only thing i can't figure out is can't seem to use my qwerty board to type am i doin something wrong?

Yeah,

The newest Opera doesn't allow you to use your qwerty keypad. I was so disappointed because it looks good.

You have to download the prior release. I think its 4.2 or something like that. I hope this is a bug they fix.

Ive had it freeze up, Ive had it delay, and now it's not letting me receive any texts.. I'm about done with this phone.. I loved this phone when I originally got it cause it had soo many capabilities.. I kept myself from getting a touch screen because I was hearing soo many people have problems with the screen not responding.. I guess all these phones coming to the market are going to have endless problems.. but this is getting a little rediculous.. I guess I just have to go to the store tomorrow and see what they tell me.. cause it seems like this is a common problem..

I recently started having problems with my Samsung Exclaim. I have had it for about 7 months now. When I first got the phone everything worked fine. I love this phone, it has great features, but now it freezes up. I can't even use my qwerty keyboard to send text messages anymore and when I slide it out my screen goes completely black. Then I have to wait for about a minute or so for the screen to come back on. When it does come back on its very bright and I can barely read anything on the screen. Gonna get this looked at today. Has anyone had this problem?

My phone just started doing that today. Im not going to have the time to bring it in until after thanksgiving which really ****** me off. The screen will go black when you open the qwerty then it will be to bright to use and if you wait for the back light to shut off and then click a button its normal so if im texting someone i just leave my phone open. I should have just waited and got the Hero.

ive had the same problem! my screen always freezes!

it gets all jumbled and pixelated.

I also have the problem that  i cantrecieve texts i cant even have one text in my inbox, or else any incoming texts will get booted out of my phone and i cant  read them.

When i plug the charger in it resets my phone .... every singlke time, so then the phone will turn on then off again then on and off.

its not the charger because i have tried it with more than 3 chargers.

and its quite rediculous how sprint will not replace it even though i have insurance.

You said it best....That's exactly what my phone does. Call sprint and see if they can order you another phone. It is very frustrating. I know exactly how you feel.
