My guess is that this phone will be an like the LG Eve (pictured below). I can't wait until someone gets a leaked video or screen shot with spec for this device. Looks like I will be returning the Samsung Moment (I picked up yesterday) to BB.
Diehard Sprint and LG fans, January will be a great month for you...
However, I really hope Sprint does not Launch their first WiMAX device in a partnership with LG. Talk about a mistake...LG-designed devices have been absolutely terrible for a few years now, and I would be shocked if next years devices were any different.
Also, I have nothing against Windows Mobile, but if Sprint announces the availability of its new mobile WiMAX/4G services with an LG/WinMo device, the announcement is sure to be a bust from a marketing perspective (for Sprint anyway...).
I'm concerned that an LG/WinMo combo is so completely dull and dissapointing that it could have a serious negative impact on the 4G part of the announcement.
I hope they do reveal a WiMAX device, and if it has to be with LG, lets hope it runs Android and has awesome hardware...

I read a big headline announcement on one of the Android sites that Read "Sprint and LG have a huge announcement! Could this be the next big Android phone?" Made it seem very exciting. Then the article goes on to mention that the special event will be sponsored by Sprint, LG and Microsoft.
Now, I'm no expert, journalist or website insider, but I'm like "really?" Sprint, LG "AND" Microsoft huh? And you think this could be an Android event?
Hope I'm wrong, but unless Sprint and especially LG are wanting to p*ss off Microsoft, I hardly think they'd invite Microsoft to a HUGE Android unveiling, let alone have them co-sponsoring one...but I'm no expert.

Well the event that Sprint and LG are sponsoring will feature Steve Ballmer and will definitely be for a WinMo Phone. I have no idea why they are calling it the "must attend" presentation at CES, but I am hoping that it has more to do with some previously unannounced Microsoft innovation and not the launch of Sprint's mobile WiMAX service.
Now, no matter what Sprint discusses during the Micrsoft/LG-specific event, they are gauranteed to discuss Android and WiMAX at some point during CES. Why? because that is how Sprint works. We get almost no announcements/news/rumors out of Sprint during the year, and big industry events like CES is one of the few times when Sprint actually provides information about what will happen over the next few months...
All of the carriers and manufacturers are probably going to have several huge announcements, including LG - so it is not impossible that they will also be announcing something about Android at some point during CES as well.
I am saying hopefully we will get more information during CES about the launch of WiMAX-enabled devices and hopefully it won't have anything to do with this LG/Microsoft event...
IMO, it makes no sense for Sprint to roll out WiMAX with a Windows Mobile phone (and certainly not an LG one), but I suppose anything could happen...
LG and Microsoft will be having different events with Sprint; a press conference that will take place a day before (Jan 6th) CES kicks off officially, where both Sprint and Microsoft CEOs will also be in attendance in what is touted to be the “hottest spot at CES” & and mobile launch party is Jan 7th. I don't think LG is going to Winmo device coming out at CES.
Did anyone notice that a couple smart phones dropped off of Sprint's online offerings today? Think it might be to free up some space for new phones to be added this week? Let's hope so.![]()
and no lg big annoucement happened I see lol
SO, has anyone heard of a release date for the 680 yet?
The 670 just got released today........but as of yet, no 680.![]()
