I have 3 lines a plan for 1500 minutes, 1 line is mine, 1 is for child, 1 was my mother who is now deceased
We only use about 300 minutes a month, this Christmas I received a Palm Pixi just to find out that I have to have a data plan, ok I'm willing to switch even if I wont be using the internet much, but why would want to pay 19.99 more more for lines that do not need internet?
7 years with sprint, and this is what they come up with
So the representative offers me a plan for 450 min for 69.99 for my line, and to keep the other 2 phone in 99.99 since they dont need internet,
why would I want to pay 99.99 for a phone a child and for a phone no one is using, and yes I explained this to the representative
Also the phone I have now, Palm Centro, now has to data plan, it just doesn't make sense
Sprint seems to be convinced that forcing shared plans to Everything Data just because one person wants one of the new phones requiring it is the way to go.
You aren't alone in disliking this policy.
So you can either pay more and activate the phone, sell the phone and keep your current plan, or leave.
Good luck.
I've been told by Sprint that a "data pack" or a "Power Vision Pro Pack" can be added to just one phone in the family plan.
This is only true for a limited number of Windows Mobile Phones, namely HTC Pro II, Samsung Intrepid, and another HTC. Doesn't apply to any Android Phones or WebOS phones (Pre and Pixi).
I'm pretty sure what Sprint is engaging in is called "vertical tying." If they don't change this stipulation, I'm sure eventually a class-action suit will be filed against such practice. I sincerely hope someone does, because there isn't a chance in **** that Sprint is going to pry my current F&F family plan with only my line having Unlimited Vision on it out of my fingers. I don't care if they come out with a phone that solves world hunger; if I'm forced to change my plan to a more expensive one that does the same thing, I'm not buying it.
I don't think Sprint realizes the amount of people who share this same sentiment with me. It could be a nightmare for them, especially since it's illegal to do it in the first place.
