HTC Touch Pro Problems...

Hey guys, I'm having a few issues with my Touch Pro that is aggravating...

First, ever since the new year, my text messaging timestamps are screwed up. My sent messages (in threaded view, of course) are stamped properly, but the received message only says the date, and not the time. Therefore new messages always stay at the top and my replies always go under them. I like to sort my messages by time so I can easily look back at active conversations, but this is making things difficult.

Second, the time that displays in the upper-right when you are in other programs, windows, etc. is now showing a little pixel analog clock instead of outputting the numbers digitally. Not sure if a setting was modified somewhere that I'm not seeing, but any advice on that is appreciated.

Thanks, in advance!

Re: HTC Touch Pro Problems...

That is the SMS 2016 bug, came about when the year changed to 2010.

There are two fixes you can try, the one from HTC which corrects the date for any new messages that may arrive as well as any message that were received after January 1st. And there's the one by a user named Ziggy which just corrects the date for any new messages.

Some people have reported that the one from HTC didn't correct their past messages, I do know that it worked on my phone. Anyway, take a look at the following thread, Oficial HTC SMS 2016 Fix.

As for your clock, it sounds like you may have installed a CAB recently that altered it. There is no setting that changes it within the stock ROM, so it had to be something that was installed. Do you recall what the last thing installed was when you noticed the clock changed?
