It really shows you how important Samsung Instinct owners are to Sprint. No resolution for the music player, the web browser, email, calculator, and the mirad of issues. I really do think we remaining and former Instinct users should consider legal action.
Legal Action like that means class action, which are a joke at best. Lawyers make millions and then sprint will be forced to give the folks who bring the suite a 25 dollar gift certificate. For what? To buy another bogged down crappy phone? Its a waste of our energy. The best thing to do is just leave sprint, people wonder why sprint sheds customers!
any progress?
Go to this post to track the music player issues. I'm demanding Sprint tech support to give us all a difinitive answer to this 1+year old problem. I'll request that you do the same if they don't get the ball rolling on this one.
Talking to the people behind the curtain....ummm, did you forget to tell us something?
I'm currently over 1200 songs and adding....no limit error so far ( loading my 8 gig sdhc )
Is it fixed? I have a 16 gig waiting to be loaded, but rather not waste the time if it's going to disappoint in the end...
Fill us in....what's going on? Can I load er up?
Almost full, and 1304 songs later....no limit error...![]()
Thanks!
If you don't mind me asking, how are you loading your music on to your sdhc card??? Are you doing something we're not doing?
sideloaded via usb to computer...just dragging and dropping into my music folder, same as I've always done
by the question I guess I'm getting lucky? ( Note, I own the Instinct HD ) not sure if it comes down to which phone you own but I started adding songs as soon as I accidently went over 1134 songs and didn't get the error....still running error free..
goygacon, does the HD Music Player list songs by artist name first or actual Song Title? ...I've been chasing around Sprint and Samsung for a year now, trying to fix the music player and all Sprint will do is give me a s30. However, I'm concerned that ALL versions of the Instinct's have similar or the same music player issues.
Ready for this Sh*t?
You would think releasing the Ultimate of Instincts to date that you would get a Music Player that would flip sideways with your phone using the accelerometer...fancy idea right? Wrong....most phones that use an accelerometer have that music player...
WE GOT THE SAME FREGGIN MUSIC PLAYER.....limitation and all...
May have well told me " hey Goy....take that 95$ 16gb card you bought to load all your music up.....Turn that Sucka Sideways...And...........
Well, anyone who's a fan of Dwayne Johnson can finish that for me, lol....
Pathetic...I could ramble and vent because I feel your frustration man....but I'm tryig to work around the limit by shrinking the file size of all my songs to under 6mb....and I might be on to something....1352 loaded and error free....but that's on my 8gb card
"Buy another phone...cool one's are coming out later this year"
Hey...my phone is 4 months old...gimmie a Real Music Player...Groove knew what they were doing but we got stuck with Livewire...and they don't know music...
I'm done, yeah, we're screwed with you until Sprint fixes it.
Goy, The last sentence here is quite telling as to what may or may not be in the future for any updates.
Today Sprint announced a new a agreement with RealNetworks that will revamp Sprint customers' music experience on their handsets. Real will manage, administer, market and deliver Sprint's digital music content, including full tracks, ringtones and ringback tones. The two companies plan to work together to re-launch Sprint's music services with a new storefront later this year. Sprint has long used Groove Mobile to provide its music store and services. It's not clear what Sprint's relationship with Groove is moving forward.
Hopefully if their relationship with Groove ends they will upgrade the music players(Which Sprint touts as "Sprint Music Store" (which tells me that their concern is in having a "Store Front" more then a separate "Music Player") With one from RealNetworks.
The problem with Groove is they sold out to Livewire ( correct me if i'm wrong here ) even my purchased Sprint music isn't in the koz format, but rather a kzi??? format..don't know what that means but Groove was the king of Koz files
And the last update to the music player wasn't done correctly, so instead of fixing the problem, or do they even know how...either way, we have to wait.
I PRAY for a new music player without limits, that's what every music lover deserves...Fix this one and I'll be fine with it.
I'm done fighting it, my goal until a fix is to see if my theory holds, I have room for another 230mb worth of music space left on my 8gb card and that should put me right at 1400 songs...we shall see
I hope the article holds, but it may be subscription based.
And There it is...theory confirmed, and still room for pics and videos
What was the limit supposed to be again?
So, how did Goy get 1400+ songs on his music player? Work man, lol...
I get errors on multipal files exceeding 8mb, even if the final number of songs averaged less than 6mb
Accidentally loaded over my previous record of 1134, but kept every file under 6 mb this time, so I ran with it.
1400+ songs later, and the average is 5.38 mb per song ( none over 6mb and still sounds good )
It's only theory, but my 8gb sdhc is loaded up, so I did something right
Hope it works for you too....sure is time consuming, I know that much.

Ok, back to the KZI file I was having troubles figuring out...basically a bookmark so songs you purchased can be re-downloaded from the options in the music player from the music store. They turn to KOZ once they're downloaded.
Man if real networks does to our phones similar to what they do for computers...this will make a nice alternative...or even a nice default music player...
unless I read the article wrong.
