International SMS from US to Ukraine

Hi, while on Sprint from the US,is it possible to SMS/Text Message someone living in the Ukraine who is on the carrier called "life:)" which is owned by a company called Astelit?
Ukraine is not one of the countries listed on Sprint's International Carriers page, so you may not be able to send text messages to carriers in that country. You could give it a try, but I can't promise that it would work, since it's not listed.
That is the same conclusion I came to after searching this portion of the Sprint website: http://www.nextel.com/en/services/worldwide/intl_txt_msg_from_us.shtmland finding: http://support.sprint.com/sprinthelp/help.html?helpID=240
On that "Country Codes for International Text Messages" list Ukraine is not listed so I would assume, while on Sprint, that SMS/Text Messaging to Ukraine is not possible.. but then I dug a bit deeper into the Sprint site and after searching "international text" in the search bar/engine I found: http://support.sprint.com/doc/sp10049.xml?docid=8485&navtypeid=6&pagetypeid=7&prevPageIndex=7&lid=ywhich can also be found through: http://support.sprint.com/doc/sp11097.xml#4On this list, Ukraine is listed as is the carrier called "life:)". Which is the accurate, recent, and most updated list? It seems like the first (shorter list without Ukraine listed) was much easier to find which says to me that the second list I mentioned is the outdated one. Any help with this would be much appreciated!
Here's a thought. Try sending a simple test text message to your Ukraine friend. If you get a reply, then it works (and you'll be charged $0.20 to $0.40 per incoming and outgoing message). If not, then no harm, no foul.
Except that I am actually, currently, an AT&T iPhone user that noticed that the carrier "life:)" is not listed on AT&T's international text messaging provider list either (but is listed as a possible carrier for international long-distance calls from US toUkraine)and was looking into Sprint to see whether, or not, I should drop AT&T and switch to Sprint solely on the basis of whether, or not, Sprint has the guaranteed ability to send and receive SMS/Text Messages to someone on the carrier called "life:)" within the Ukraine.
If you like, I could always try to send your friend a text message from my Nextel phone. If it goes through and I get a response, then you'll know whether it works or not. :) Just send me a message that has your friend's phone number and I will do the rest.
