Pocket Express Update

I was doing stuff on my phone and up popped a message saying there was an update. I told it to update and it said Pocket Express was updating... hmmm. Is this new or was it cause I had done the reset today? I do not recall Pocket Express updating when I first got the phone last week.

WTH! This update only adds ADVERTISMENTS to the app! We pay for this service in our plan, Advertisments are for "FREE SHAREWARE" not paid apps! Sprint do you relize you are really ******* people off and pushing them closer out the door. I'm reaching my wit's end with this company!

Web>Tap to add>Tap Gears on top>If your auto update is set to Auto Update you
may get automaticly upgraded. I've got mine set to OFF. I'm not updating if all
it adds is ADDS!

Because that's what's being reported! It didn't add the stock app or anything new.There have been no other reports except it seems to run smoother. By that I don't know what it means, mine is smooth to begain with

Pure speculation on my part...

We know that Sprint appears to be walking away from Pocket Express for the Instinct, since it is not included on the S30. Sprint's alternative to eliminating Pocket Express altogether on the original M800's may be to "downgrade" the service to a level that includes advertisements. Then Sprint's bait and switch would be to offer M800 users the option to "upgrade" to the web based application that S30 users are familiar with (Instinct S30s do not include Pocket Express).

I've only seen the one post on your website. Do you have any other sources? Does that person that got the update have the Instinct or the s30? I'd like to see some confirmation is possible.

btw, I believe the "auto update" has to do with the program downloading the news. If you turn it off, you'll have to manually update want to read the news . When that happens you'll be prompted to download the new software, if it's actually being pushed to the phone.

The source is good... ddjohnson. Says there's banners added, and it runs smoother...and he has our Instinct...

personal friend, good source, wouldn't have posted otherwise...I haven't gotten the update....hold on, let me check since I'm writing this.........Nope...Wonder why only a selected few are getting this?
