Hello forum members. I joined the forum yesterday after purchasing a Lotus 5 days ago and i must say the phone is amazing especially since i upgraded from the samsung m300. My question is does the music button no the side of the lotus onlyactivate music stored or downloaded in 'ALL MY MUSIC' content, or can i also activated music stored in the music folder of the micro sd card with the same button? Can i play the music stored in the MUSIC folder with the flap closed?:smileysad: Well, i am going to do an odd thing and asnwer my own post. Over the last few days i was able to figure outhow to do it. If you download music from the sprint store, it will be saved by default into the ALL MY MUSIC folder of your player and you can activate and play this music with the music buttons on your phone. I had difficulty playing music that i transfered into the phone from the computer because it was WMA (windows media audio) which is not one of the supported music formats on the phone. The solution? Convert the music saved on your computer into one of the supported formats i.e M4A, MP3, AAC, AAC+, before you transfer it to the phone. There are several different ways to this. I downloadedand installed itunes into my computer first. Then i opened itunes and windows media player side by side. Then i clicked, dragged and dropped the albums that i wanted to play on my phone from the windows media player library into the itunes library. Itunes will ask if you want to change the album into one of the supported formats for the phone before it transfers the music into the library. Click yes and it will do the work for you. Once you complete the task, connect the phone to the computer via USB. You have to manually put the phone into USB mode and in the "Transfer music option," or you can eject the micro sd card, plug into the adapter that comes with it and connect to the computer with a card reader. Most computers the micro sd card will be recognized as drive F: open the drive folders and click, drag and drop the music files that you just trasfered from itunes into the 'MUSIC' folder of the micro sd card. Once you are done, disengage the USB Mode on the phone, or unplug the micro sd card from the computer using the proper procedure and plug back into the phone. Now press and hold the music player button to activate the music player and enjoy your music with the flap opened or closed. Remember the music has to be in one the phones supported formats in order for the music player to recognize it and play it using the music buttons on the phone.
Hi,
Although this is an old Post I just wanted to say thank you for helping me solve a similar issue.
I also could not get the music I had on my microSD card in the phone to play with the lid closed on my Lotus. I had transferred some MP3 files from my computer to the microSD card in my phone using the typical USB connection between the computer and phone. I put the MP3 files in the "MUSIC" folder on the microSD card but they sill wouldn't play with the lid closed.
Anyway, your mentioning that you had used iTunes to convert the files was the answer. The original files I had were MP3's but after I ran them through iTunes and they were reconverted to MP3's everything worked fine, even with the lid closed.
Now I can press the Music button on the side of the phone and access my music through the Music Player.
Thank you,
Don
I just plugged mine into the PC through the USB cable that comes with the phone. I had the phone open and a menu will pop up on your phone. I selected Mass Storage. A box will pop up on your pc screen. Select open folder to view files. A folder pops up, and you can drag any of your files to the folder. Pictures, Music, and Video. You can even add your own videos to the phone, but you will need a program called: Freez 3GP Video Converter. Hope this helps some newbies. ![]()
I was reading the posts on the Music Player. Mine worked great and I had no problems until I got a message that said I needed to upgrade my music player or it may not work... so I did. Ever since then it is working very screwy! It won't play certain songs or it plays one song but on the screen it says something else is playing. I can't change songs as I did before and it keeps giving me options like - remove from play list (none of my songs are even on a play list), continue or cancel. Doesn't matter which choice I use it still doesn't work! Also when my phone goes in and out of the Sprint service area the song kind of pauses until it's back in the Sprint area. Never ever had this problem before downloading the update... WISH I HADN'T DONE IT!!!
Has anyone else ever had a problem like this?
Oh, by the way, I just did this update in the last month or two.
