Call History:
Private Calls will no longer be incorrectly assigned to the All Contacts history.

Sprint Navigation:
Sprint Navigation from the alert landing page should no longer periodically crash the application while in use.

SME Calendar:
The Reminder Alerts in the SME calendar will appear appropriately on subsequent notifications when the snooze function is used or the initial reminder has been ignored.

Wireless Web:

RSS Reader:
The RSS Reader for the Web Browser has been corrected and will now work as designed to provide RSS data feeds from customer  assigned Web sites.

Java:
The Java Application for the phone will be set to Open in the API enabling Java developers to build new applications for the Instinct phones.

Privacy Mode:

  • The Privacy Mode settings has been removed from the phone and defaulted to off.
  • This will prevent various errors when accessing certain sites that required security authentication including NFL Mobile, Sprint NASCAR, and Sprint Manage.

Keep us updated on how MR-7 works out.  I'm holding off for a while until I know what I'm getting myself into.

My Instinct already had the bad MR6, but this firmware CH27 is showing as update 6 of 6???  Anyway, since I'm going for the Hero next month, I'll be a ginny pig!  HA!

WOW! GREAT! (sarcasm)

Anyone notice anything different?

I jsut tried writing a text message and noticed much less of a lag.  Also my music loaded much much quicker.  And I can lock the screen during calls!!!  Just kidding.  The first 2 really happened though.

Re: Instinct s30 (M810) MR2 & Instinct (M800) MR7 - Ready for download

After upgrading to MR-7 on my Instinct M800, I did a quick check of functionality. So far, all instinct functions and applications on my Instinct appear to be working properly. Sprint TV and my download app KBcalc also appears to work properly. After checking the browser functions, I still notice that the Out of Memory error persists. But I was pretty sure this was not going to be fixed with MR-7. However, I did notice some graphics that didn't load previously on certain websites, appear to work now. However, there were some graphics like the one at the Sprint Community website that still doesn't work. Other than that, all of the web functions of Live Search, Weather, News, Sports, Movies, and My Account appear to be working as they should. I did notice a slight speed improvement on music loading from the SD card.

However, this is just an initial run through. I think we'll need a few days of checking things out before we give MR-7 a proper judgement call. So far, my initial assessment of MR-7 looks slightly positive.

Stay tuned.

Thank you Sarah and those who contributed to this "seemingly to be good" update. Browser is much faster. Apps load and close much faster. Music loads faster. All apps both Sprint provided and 3rd party work as expected and seem much quicker. New and loaded apps now all have the option for always allow instead of ask each time. Less lag when texting. MyCastWeather utilizes GPS once again. Unless future problem arise, this is a very good MR.

Re: Instinct s30 (M810) MR2 & Instinct (M800) MR7 - Ready for download

First thing I noticed after my phone restarted after the update is "!" in place of some of my pics on my speed dial page again

Second thing I noticed is now I need to reZoom every webpage again, because It's not remembering the zoom set from the last page again. This isn't even in standard mode but mobile....developers/update guys can confirm this by actually grabbing an updated Instinct and go to fun/shopping...then surf and see for yourself..

Yahoo.com homepage standard mode still gives me " The running script can make browser very slow.  Continue anyway? "

instinct-samsung.com still gives an " out of memory "

and CNN.com standard mode just soft reset my phone,

so, not sure what web errors the update fixed

.

All of the above happened on my second phone after CD17, and seems to be repeating on my third phone after this update

Pandora and Loopt still work

Thanks Sarah

Thank you very much Sarah and the Development Team,

It's great to finally have MR-7, and a nice surprise...wasn't expecting it today.

Still trying to figure out what has changed for the better, but nothing has gone wrong.

The Web browser does seem to open  more briskly.

Re: Instinct s30 (M810) MR2 & Instinct (M800) MR7 - Ready for download

Okay, a new update, Instinct still got some life!! Okay, being that I have no clue what the update fix I'll simply be happy to be pleasantly surprised at what I discover. My stock Browser however is noticeably faster. BTW, for those of us who did not have MR6 (had to get a refurb) does MR7 include those so called Open API's, just wondering???

Re: Instinct s30 (M810) MR2 & Instinct (M800) MR7 - Ready for download

Sarah's original post said that it fixed the error in internet connection coming back out of airplane mode.....good thing the message was edited to remove that, because as I got off the plane today, it did not remove that error.  I had to turn off airplane mode, then power cycle the phone to get internet connections.

Other than that, now the APIs have the option for "always allow" for all APIs for all apps.  Before, in MR6, they only asked to allow until exit for writing to the SD card.  Glad to see that was fixed.

Re: Instinct s30 (M810) MR2 & Instinct (M800) MR7 - Ready for download

Also, my Pandora said that my subscription was over and I had to resubscribe....which means I had to redownload the application, then it worked.  I did have MR6 on my phone and did not revert to MR5, not sure if that made a difference or not.

Can this forum, please change how this post box shows up so we can post from our Instinct browsers????  At least for the 2 more weeks I will have this phone.
