TeleNav versus Sprint Navigation

I am not too pleased with the ambiguity between the TeleNav download at the Sprint store and Sprint Navigation.  If a person looks long enough, they can find the official Sprint Navigation download and thus not incur any charges (presuming they have GPS support on the plan).

But what gets me is this.  I moved a family member over to a different phone that has support for the TeleNav software but didn't have it pre-installed.   The shared plan has GPS support for all phones, so I open the Content Manager, and choose Get New.  Which took me over to the Sprint store.  Nothing on the Sprint store screen revealed any of the free applications available for my data plan, but my plan has support for navigation, so I downloaded the application.  I disregarded fee figuring that since I have it on my plan, I wouldn't be billed, and besides the store didn't show me any content that was available to me as part of my plan.  The next month I see a charge for $9.99 in respect to TeleNav.  I contact Sprint support and they very kindly issue a refund and then advise me to visit the My Content on the web to ensure I don't receive recurring bills.

I log on, check My Content as they suggested and it's not listed.  Yeah!  They fixed it and they also provided me with the right link where I can download the nagivation software.  I did this and the software installed and worked correctly.

A few months later I'm reviewing my bill for plan changes and noted, that doggone Sprint: Tools - TeleNav GPS Navigator has been listed the last few months!  And why?  Because when you follow Sprint's instructions and visit the My Content section but are not aware it only shows it for the primary phone, you'll only see the applications associated with the primary phone.

Personally I think Sprint should have a menu to explicitly choose which phone before entering the My Content section, such that it's very apparent, like when viewing minutes or data usage.

If you look carefully on the left link there is "shop for my other devices", but that didn't clue in when I was trying to REMOVE (e.g. not shop) the program from the secondary phone's subscription.

Just in my humble opinion, the tools for managing content are present on the web, but not presented intuitively or correctly.

On a side note, I am also disturbed by the fact that if a phone is reported stolen, any data or applications purchased, are automatically billed to the primary phone. Talk about confusing!  If it wasn't for the purchase date on applications being close to the date the phone was reported stolen (which actually came before the purchase), I would have never figured it out.
