[re-release of update on 3/11 - Message was edited by: dshoem01]
Any update on this with what is going on with the update?
It is available now (1/12). Sorry for the inconvenience.
Got it thanks!! Also, it is listed as RBE 03.00 on the site and in the file (as opposed to RBE 00.03) listed above, if it is of any consequence to anyone. I hope I did not find a possible bug. Was on my bluetooth headset (Jawbone Prime) only for the phone to lose connectivity in the middle of the conversation and revert to the phone speaker (though my screen indicated that Bluetooth was on and the device connected.) Not sure if it was just a fluke or a larger possible issue. Interested to know if anyone else experiences.
Got it also, its not an update to Android 1.6 or higher but its an update nonetheless. It seems to be good so far fixed a few issues although my Sprint Zone app and Sprint Football Live app still will not load. I like the fact we now have the app and can access YouTube though very nice!!
I got the update OTA yesterday. It seems OK
Things I've noticed:
The YouTube app is iincluded and works
Skyfire works too. It doesn't show up in the market but if you download Skyfire 2.3 from http://www.skyfire.com/product/android it works
But
Calling out with Google Voice still doesn't work. I created a separate thread about that issue: http://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/58302
The charging meter is still messed up. If I have a 65% battery level it drops to 30% as soon as I plug the charger in.
I haven't updated my phone, have google voice installed on my i1 and I am able to make outgoing calls with my google voice number, it even displays my google number on the other parties phone. Maybe I misread the problem, but how does yours not work?
I have the official Google Voice app from the Market installed. It has an option to make all calls from contacts or directly dialed though Google Voice.
When I enable that option all calls fail with the error "You have dialed an incorrect number or code, please hang up and dial again.". I think that Google Voice is trying to dial using +1 in front of the number which the iDEN network has never supported. The change log for the update says it fixes a " Google Voice numeric and +1 dialing issue" but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Are you saying that you are using the Google Voice app and out-bound calls work?
Yes, I have the official version of google voice, I couldn't download the app through Market Place cause I couldn't find it so googled it, downloaded and installed it. Yes, Im using google voice to send text messages and outbound calls, and it works well, as i said, it even displays my GV number in the caller id of the party im calling. The only thing I noticed is that when receiving text messages from my contacts the number shows so what i did is had to change the prefix to +1 and then the number. Hope this gets fixed with the update.
Not sure if any one is experiencing this problem or not yet with their i1.
I completed the update around 0300 hours EST and all went smoothly.
I thought this update was off to a good start since my coworkers did the update and it took care of the user busy in data issues that were were always having.
Tonight while in a DC call my phone rebooted without reason.
It took some time but, did reboot.
While back in a DC call the phone powered off and rebooted approximately four more times.
Later in the shift again while in another DC call the phone powered off and rebooted.
Im looking to get some advise if anyone else is experiencing this same issue.
I have an email into our dedicated customer care rep. but, I'm sure I will not hear anything back until Tuesday.
Okay, I am going to be the first to say it. This upgrade is full of fail. It killed my Facebook Sync application. My phone also randomly power cycles now. It locks up when I go to power it down. I have to take the back off and remove the battery. It burns through battery quicker, and now, if I do not lock the phone the screen with power up and down instead of staying dim. I am sure this wastes battery. I am starting to feel like it caused more issues than if fixed. I also get Force closes every time in the Market, and alot more frequently on other apps than ever before. Is there any way to go back a software version??
Check to make sure the device did get updated to the current software. If the software did update then I would perform an hard reset.
Mine is randomly rebooting. Also shutting Wi-Fi down when I lock it, which I do not care for.
The new version of the software is installed, I am certain of that.. I am interested to know if others are having issues as well. I am not keen on deleting all the data on my phone if I can avoid it. If I do so, I want to be sure it will fix the issues I am having.
Other than the fact that I still can't use Google Voice to make outgoing calls I haven't had any issues since the update. It does seem to have fixed th issues with Skyfire force closing.
