Does the rant have a notepad feature like the rumor?

Re: Samsung Rant

a text can only be up to 160 characters accross the board but the memopad will only allow up to 512 characters as opposed to the 1000 characters on the rumor.

Re: Samsung Rant

I am having a few issues with my rant. I only got it two weeks ago. I have always previously used phonezoo and made my own ringtones and sent them to my phone. I never get the text from them on my rant. I changed all the necessary stuff on phonezoo, I just never get the text.

Also, this phone does not hold a battery charge. I think I might have a bad one. I will charge it in the morning until the light turns green then it will almost immediately go down to two bars, which it will stay at for a while. After the two bars it will go to one bar for a few minutes then immediately it will start beeping and die. I don't use my phone that much to warrant the bars quickly going down.

I did the update for the rant and it has not made a difference on the phone. Oh well. Maybe I will take it to Sprint today.

Re: Samsung Rant

Help! I've had my phone for over a week now and cannot download any ringtones/screensavers.

I also am having problems with phonezoo and every other download I try and make. I keep getting a message: This issue has been reported. Please try again later 950 server error. I've called Sprint several times and they keep telling me there is an outage someplace and try again "tomorrow". Has anyone else had this error message?

Re: Samsung Rant

have you tried updating your data profile? Go settings >more >data(7)  >update data profile. Try that and try downloading it again.

Re: Samsung Rant

i've seen that problem before. i agree that a lot of times updating the data profile is the way to go but not always. sprint has a nice way of blocking certain 3rd party ringtone sites and application uploaders.

if i were you i would go to rumkin.com and use the sprint pcs uploader to send a ringtone to your phone. as long as it is a small enough size, it should work. if it doesn't, then we know its your phone because it worked on my Rant.

let us know if that helps.

Re: Samsung Rant

I have been having the same problem with my battery. I have had my phone since the 12th and it keeps freezing up on me it will get stuck in lock mode or decide it doesn't want to go on the internet. I checked the sprint coverage for my area and according to the map it should be fine. has your phone been doing this too?

Re: Samsung Rant

funny sprint tells me the same thing whenever something goes wrong they just seem to say that whatever server or tower is down and try tomarrow. As far as phonezoo i can't seem to get them to work at all but i was able to get myxer.com to work for a while. i think sprint is just telling me this to bide their time until i am locked into a contract. The frusterating thing is i can't take the phone back because i am on bedrest and in my last month of pregnancy and they keep telling me to bring the phone in so that they can look at it. I have gone in 3 times allready even though i'm on bedrest with no results. they tried to tell me i needed a new memory card but both my memory card and my phone memory are less than 1/2 used. I wonder if they know what they are talking about or if they are just hoping that i don't have any clue.

Re: Samsung Rant

If your phone keeps freezing up try checking to see if you have the latest firmware(software) update go menu >tools >update phone > update firmware that should solve a lot of issues with the phone did with mine

Re: Samsung Rant

I hope you've fixed this by now, but I was having the same problem for the last 3 months and it was driving me crazy. Called tech support and they said I had to download my ringers from the Sprint music store and I said that was crazy! I should be able to download anywhere. My husband get download any ringer he wants on his phone, but my rant keeps giving me the error. After I refused to let it go at that and I told her that others online were having the same problem, she looked into it and realized it was a problem. Anyway, I updated my firmware, but the first time it did nothing. Then I found a post on here that said I need software BK03 and when I checked, I had B109. So I updated my firmware again, (menu: tools: 9.: 1.) AFter doing this, I checked the software and changed to the BK03 and tried downloading again and it worked!!!! I was elated. Now why could tech support do this? They hadn't even heard of this error 950

Re: Samsung Rant

My wife has the Rant. If she receives a text while she's composing/writing a text, she gets locked out of what she's writing and it is apparently lost. She has to start over from scratch to send a text. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jeff

Re: Samsung Rant

mine works fine when I get a text while composing.. a prompt comes up to let me know I have a new text and I hit ignore and continue composing the text I started..

I lose texts when there's a bad signal and it fails sending them.. it says it's saved in the outbox but there is no text "outbox" that I can find anywhere..

My battery life is pretty decent.. I can go almost all day on a full charge and I send and receive usually around 200 texts a day in addition to using the phone, taking pictures, etc.. seems to charge pretty quick too, about 2.5-3 hours from phone turned off dead to green light..
