Small to mid-sized business owners will like everything about Sprint Cloud Optimizer.

First, they can keep employees connected to Microsoft Office 365 offered by Sprint while saving on bandwidth usage. Employees can also stay connected while traveling, between meetings and working where an optimal connection isn’t available. And, the first-in-market offer enables offline use of SharePoint and lightens the cloud for those business owners.

The result: a much more productive workforce.

The solution is now available with the cloud-based Microsoft Office 365 offered by Sprint. It has caching technology so that users can enjoy the collaboration functionality of Office 365 and Sharepoint Online as well as access to customer selected public websites from virtually anywhere, even if they have limited or no Internet access.

Sprint Cloud Optimizer is initially available for PCs and laptops and can benefit many work scenarios, including keeping employees connected while in transit between meetings, providing an option when employees have only high cost connectivity available to them while traveling, and supporting remote employees and those working in areas where an optimal connection may not be available. It also frees up bandwidth for other cloud-based and business applications that share the same bandwidth, allowing businesses to better manage network capacity challenges.

“Sprint Cloud Optimizer offers yet another valuable capability that helps companies enjoy even greater productivity while also reducing the impact of customer network congestion and other remote-working challenges,” said Wayne Ward, vice president-Business and Product Development-Sprint. “Employees can work virtually anywhere and have all the benefits of remote cloud-based access to Office 365 plus enjoying web content when offline, while their company can save from more efficient bandwidth utilization.”

E-Week story here

With two recent agreements, Sprint’s M2M machine keeps ringing up deals in the retail world.

First, Sprint and Vantiv Inc. launched a tablet-based point-of-sales (POS) solution for businesses. This is important for Sprint for these reasons:

·         Vantiv Mobile Checkout is a tablet-based point-of-sales system with retail software and Sprint wireless connectivity.

·         Businesses can affordably transition away from traditional cash registers and manual processes to the latest integrated technology.

·         Vantiv Mobile Checkout enables business owners to track sales and profitability, analyze and report on customer trends, manage inventory, market to customers, and process sales on site or on location.

·         This solution is available through the Sprint business sales channel.

Ben Vos-vice president, Emerging Solutions Group, Sprint, said many that small and medium-sized businesses were using or considering moving to a tablet POS or mobile POS system and that the strategic relationship between Sprint and Vantiv provided expanded reach and distribution capabilities that capitalize on this trend.

“We’re excited to bring leading, integrated and innovative payment solutions to small businesses with Sprint,” said Elizabeth Rector, senior vice president and general manager of mobile and e-commerce, Vantiv. “Sprint’s business distribution network is a perfect way to reach more small businesses and we look forward to helping them be even more effective with Vantiv Mobile Checkout.”

Sprint is also teaming with Mako Networks to add their system to Sprint’s portfolio of solutions for retailers and distributed enterprises. U.S. customers now can purchase Mako’s solution integrated with Sprint’s wireless service to connect, protect, control and secure their data and payment transactions.

This release gives all the details about that important arrangement. Here is the full Vantiv release. Cruxial CIO picked up on the Vantiv agreement and wrote this story on Nov. 5. Telecomcomengine.com posted this story on the Mako agreement.

Sprint’s business customers have yet another reason to remain with the company – the huge productivity gains of Canvas.

Canvas is a cloud-based software service that allows businesses to replace paper forms with efficient mobile forms and apps that can be used on smartphones, tablets and computers. Canvas works on all smartphones and tablets Sprint offers, including the recently introduced Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, an incredibly portable Android-based tablet with a 7-inch screen that makes it easy for mobile employees to get work done.

More than just digital forms, Canvas unleashes the productivity of smartphones and tablets with GPS functionality, image capture, bar code scanning, electronic signatures and access to such business data as parts catalogs and customer records. Canvas helps businesses transition to digital from their existing paper-based processes by letting them choose and customize content from its library of more than 10,000 mobile business apps, which include inspection forms, work orders and surveys.

“Our customers want ways to reduce costs, simplify operations and make employees more productive,” said Wayne Ward, vice president-Business and Product Development, Sprint. “Paper is one of the most ubiquitous tools in business; it’s used in just about every business function. Re-examining paper consumption is an incredible opportunity to streamline business operations. We’re excited to offer our customers the Canvas mobile business platform with the added efficiency of including the service on their Sprint bill.”

One Sprint customer, a Philadelphia-based developer and manager of commercial parking facilities, sees the immediate benefits of Canvas.

“Canvas has automated our manual facility inspections, saving us time and money,” said David Conrad, vice president-IT, Parkway Corporation. “Our employees have easy access to inspection forms and find that filling them out and submitting them is easy and efficient.”

Here are two facts on Canvas that Sprint, a noted environmental leader, enjoys being a part of:

·         On average, customers save up to 75 percent on cost of paper and achieve productivity savings of $3,800 per user.

·         To date, Canvas has automated millions of manual processes and replaced more than 40 tons of paper for businesses.

“With Canvas, Sprint business customers can quickly and easily boost productivity, end paper-based processes and improve their company's operating efficiency,” said James Quigley, , Canvas CEO. “We’re proud to be working with Sprint as they look to provide the most innovative business solutions to their wireless subscribers.”
