Program your HTC EVO 3D

 

You can use these programming instructions if you have completed the Activate your new phone process in My Sprint. Your confirmation email or Programming  Instructions page will have any codes you may need for these  instructions to work.


Note: If you are programming a phone that was previously activated on our network and used by another customer, please follow the Program a Used Phone steps toward the bottom of the page.

 

Program a Brand New Phone

  1. Turn on the phone by pressing and holding the Power button at the top right of the phone
  2. Your phone will connect to the network and automatically activate
  3. Once complete, you will see the message Your phone has been activated; tap OK to continue
  4. You will be prompted to update the PRL; tap OK to continue
  5. You will then be prompted to update the Firmware; tap OK and you will return to the set up screen
  6. Next  you will walk through completing setup, such as, how to use the  on-screen keyboard, use Google location, set up accounts, and set up  social networks
  7. Once set up is complete, you will be returned to the Home screen, and your HTC EVO™ 3D is ready to use to make calls and access data
If your phone did not activate successfully when you turned it on for the first time, complete the following steps:Note: If you see a Retry message and tap Activate, you will be taken to the Device Self-Service screen; if you tap Cancel, you will return to the set up screen. If you are at a screen showing Error code: 1012, tap OK.
  1. At the Sprint Zone Device Self-Service screen, tap Activate My Device
  2. You will see the message Activating Device.  Do not interrupt this process. If the screen goes into sleep mode, you  may tap the screen to wake up the phone. Do not hold down the End key,  as it will interrupt the process.
  3. You will see a Confirmation screen stating the device is now active; tap Done and the phone will reboot
  4. Once the phone reboots, the data service will update; tap OK and the phone will reboot again
  5. When you see the Home screen, your EVO 3D is ready to use to make calls and access data

 


Program a Used Phone

Note: Please follow these steps if you are programming a phone that was  previously activated on our network and used by another customer and if  you have completed the Activate your new phone process in My  Sprint. Refer to your confirmation email or Programming Instructions  page for any codes you may need for these instructions to work.

  1. Turn on the phone by pressing and holding the Power button at the top right of the phone
  2. From the Home screen, tap Phone
  3. On the phone dial pad, enter ##72786#
  4. On the Please Enter Password screen, enter the 6-digit code you received in the Activate your new phone process in My Sprint; tap OK
  5. At the SCRTN screen, press Menu and tap Reset
  6. When the EPST message appears, tap OK
  7. On the next message, tap OK; the phone will then clear internal programming and reboot
  8. After the phone reboots, it will connect to the network and begin hands-free activation
If you want to keep the contacts and applications previously installed on the phone, your steps are now complete.
If you want to permanently clear out or remove any previous contacts, photos or applications on the phone, follow these steps:
  1. At the Home screen, press Menu and tap Settings
  2. Scroll up and tap SD & phone storage
  3. Tap Factory data reset
  4. Choose whether or not to delete items from the SD card and tap Reset phone
  5. Tap Erase everything
  6. Your phone will erase all data and reboot

 


If all other programming methods have failed and if you have completed the Activate your new phone process in My Sprint, you can follow these steps to manually program  the phone. Refer to your confirmation email or Programming Instructions  page for any codes you may need for these instructions to work.

  1. On the phone dial pad, press ## followed by the 6-digit code you received in the Activate your new phone process in My Sprint, followed by an additional #. Example: ##123456#
  2. You will see the Service Program screen; tap Edit Mode
  3. Tap Mobile Directory Number (MDN) to select
  4. Select the number key on the virtual keyboard, enter the 10-digit MDN, then tap OK
  5. Tap MSID to select
  6. Select the number key on the virtual keyboard, enter the 10-digit MSID, then tap OK
  7. Verify you entered the correct MDN and MSID then press the Menu key
  8. Tap Commit Modifications
  9. After the prompt appears verifying updates, tap OK or let the phone reset automatically
  10. After the phone reboots, open the Web browser to update the data profile
  11. Once you are returned to the Home screen, make a call and access data to ensure your phone programmed successfully. If you are unable to call or access data, contact us.
