same results even when it actually worked lol. ive been messing with vlingo for a few days now and it works great. i do get bored pretty quickly so i'll end up using the mic on the text screen(google..not vlingo) for giggles and send a voice to text to someone sitting in the same room since its rarely ever right...or even close to what i said lol.
Hey, Magician, you described exactly what happens to me, with the persons name going in the text box and no contact name. I couldn't have explained it better, myself! I'm going to try this Vlingo app. I have never used voice to text etc. much at all, due to the fact that it never worked right for me. Now, I'm kind of thinking this whole voice thing is pretty cool, if I can get it to work like it's supposed to.
Voice to text ( voice search ) apparently microphone is to sensitive if you put your finger over the microphone hole at the bottom of phone then it picks up your voice even when you are driving with background noise somebody should be able to fix this either htc, sprint or Google
My yahoo email is now working on my EVO android device. It took a few days but last night around midnight it started working again. I sent an email to Yahoo and I think the engineers of Sprint and Yahoo have been working on this one. Hopefully they fixed it and it just did not start working on its own. Either way: good to have email working again. Have not had the issues you guys have been having. I wish you luck with them. And please warn your loved ones and friends about the Gingerbread update whether thay are on Sprint or Verizon: update at your own risk!
This is the message I got from HTC.
Thank you for your report regarding voice to text on the Evo after the Gingerbread update. HTC and Sprint are currently investigating this issue. While I do not currently have an ETA I can provide you it is highly likely that the resolution will come in the form of an over the air update to your device.
You can get the current status of this issue on page one of the thread you linked me. There is a mention of the issue and that area will be replaced with an update once HTC and Sprint have news available for you.
- Voice to text (voice search) and compass problems have been reported and are being investigated by Sprint and HTC. Additional information will be posted when available."

Why no mention of bluetooth fix in 2011 GM and Ford Vehicles?
I got tired of waiting for an answer as to what went wrong with my Bluetooth. It worked fine before the original update, I could link my phonebook with my Bluetooth, no problems. But, after no answers, I tried something the Service Mgr suggested. I had my phone wiped clean, deleted all phones from my 2011 GMC Terrain Bluetooth, paired and did not (and continue to refuse) to allow phonebook to link to Bluetooth. My Bluetooth works just fine now. Someone mentioned trying to link my phonebook now, but I don't want to rock the boat. BUT, something definitely happened with Bluetooth with the Gingerbread update. I really SHOULD be able to link my phonebook!
