I updated from Gingerbread to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 on March 29. Today I received a notification that there is a new upgrade to Jellybean 4.2 so I went to settings to double check my version and when I tried to go back to the notification, it was gone. Is there a newer update since 4.1.2? If so, how would i get it?
i did get that notification to update to 4.2 too last night, when i clicked on the notification, it open up a web page showing 4.2, some help links to samsung...etc., but i didn't have time to do the upgrade. This morning i open it up again and that site is in maintenance mode, the 4.2 info. isnt there anymore. Probably sprint realized that was a typo, it's supposed to be 4.1, not 4.2 so they took down the page? i don't think there's a new update after 4.1, maybe there is but not that fast.
I received this notice this morning, July 16, 2013. About updating to Jelly Bean GB27 4.2.
Called Sprint, they had no idea. I have read (like the link above) that the update its rolling out to the Galaxy S2, and is out in Europe. And will be here eventually. Just don't get why the message went out and why Sprint technicians have no clue!
The message you received was from Sprint Zone and is a reminder to those who haven't already updated their device. The Android version on this device is 4.1. You can always find the most recent info on software updates here. Sorry for the confusion.
