2/24:  Overdrive 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot 1.07 OTA and Software Download Availability

 

 

With this update, you will experience the following:

  • Improved Wi-Fi operation and throughput.
    • Improved performance for customers who experienced Windows XP issues.
  • Auto Update enhancements to improve download reliability.
  • Fix for when device stays in offline after upgrade.

 

Timeframe: The size of the file is 36.9MB and may take up to 15 minutes to download.

To update Over The Air (OTA):

 

  1. When connected to your Overdrive through Wi-Fi, open your web browser and enter either http://overdrive/ or https://192.168.0.1 in the address box
  2. On the home page, enter the Administrator Password (default is password), and click OK
  3. Go to Advanced Settings > Device tab > Basic sub-tab
  4. Click Check for Updates Now button; Note: You MUST be plugged into AC power to perform an update
  5. Select Update Options
  6. Select Download and Install Now
  7. A progress bar on your computer will show the update progress. Note: This process will take approximately 10 to 20 minutes, depending on your signal quality
  8. Once the package is downloaded, your Overdrive will apply the new version and web page will show Software Update in Progress. The Overdrive device display will show Update in progress and a percentage complete with a status bar.
  9. Once the update is applied, your Overdrive should reboot and again connect to the network. If it does not reboot on its own, you may have to turn the power off and back on again manually.

 

 

To update from a file:

 

  1. Ensure your Overdrive is connected to the AC charger or computer through the USB to Micro B cable
  2. Go to the Overview download page and Download the latest firmware file to your computer Note: We recommend downloading it to your desktop to make it easy to find
  3. When connected to your Overdrive through Wi-Fi, open your web browser and enter either http://overdrive/ or https://192.168.0.1 in the address box
  4. On the home page, enter the Administrator Password (default is password), and click OK
  5. Under Update Firmware from File, select Choose
  6. Browse to the file you saved on your desktop and select Update
  7. Your Overdrive display will show the percentage complete until the update is applied. Note: This process takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, depending on your signal quality
  8. Once the update is applied, your Overdrive should reboot and again connect to the network. If it does not reboot on its own, you may have to turn the power off and back on again manually.
