What is with the absurd password restrictions enforced when creating ones sprint.com account? It requires ONE and will ONLY allow one uppercase symbol, and ONE and ONLY one numeral. Are you trying to make the passwords LESS secure by limiting the number of digits one may use in the password?
Well, for example because of these restrictions I attempted to use (not actually, but same format) the password "Zoinks666" and was told "Please pick a different password. For security reasons, your password should be 6-33 characters and not match your username." but if I shortened it to "Zoinks6" it accepted it fine.
I tried to set my password to Zoinks666 and I got the same message. It wouldn't let me do it. I don't know why that password is off limits...I do apologize for the inconvenience. I don't believe this is evidence of some kind of fundamental security flaw with this website. If you have any more issues please bring them to the attention of any Sprint agent or an admin and we'll be happy to try our best to get it fixed.
Here are few of my old passwords that i used for mysprint account.
I use roboform to Manage all my passwords and also to Generate any new passwords. These are only my old passwords that you see up there.
The whole point to the article I just linked above shows that an (for example) eleven character password with NO numbers in it (only upper and lower case ascii letters) is still nine times stronger than a ten character password that has numbers. In other words, password requirements and restrictions are silly silly silly.
Maybe I read it wrong, I took away the fact that penalty periods and wait period for entering another password were the "key" to a secure password. at any rate our security team has picked their requirements, and I must say seem far less restrictive than one may expect, and since we do have a penalty period this adds to the security.
