Bad customer service causes cancellation. Anyone else?

I am cancelling service after a string of mostly bad service. Has anyone else experienced the following?

Bring phone in for repair in February, screen goes out a month or two later. Bring phone in for repair in March, no technician. Bring in phone the next day to drop off and given phone back frozen and useless. Then the rep order another phone but no battery! Then gives me the number to corporate and tells me to call Sprint corporate for another phone. Call them and tell them I want to keep my old incoming minutes fee and $15 web plan and they said they would send a compatible phone. They send me a Palm Pre and tell me it is not compatible and I have to change my plan. After talking with two more customer reps they finally say they will send out a TouchPro 2 and to return the Palm in the envelope it came with. I get the TouchPro and return the Palm and the TouchPro 1 to the post office.

A month later I get a call saying my bill is past due despite the fact that I have automatic bill pay on a credit card with a $5,000 limit. I think it is a scam until I call Sprint and they confirm saying lost equipment charge of $410. They then find both phones and say they were mislabeled despite them advising me to send them back in in the respective envelopes. They then say they will take off the charge and it does not happen. They then cut off my phone despite the automatic bill pay!!!! Then I call get it cut back on and ask them to take off the charge after admitting it was their fault. They do not remove the charge and I have to ask American Express to dispute the charge.

I finally get a customer service person to call me who was good about following up and escalating to the proper people. Only problem is when they made the adjustment they then cut off my phone again saying my bill was overdue. I tried working with customer service and they were a hasse. I finally talke to a Latonya in the cancellation department and she was great so I almost was ready to not cancel. I then get escalated to a manager named Scott who was an ass and so there was no incentives despite me being a customer for over 2 years and having a $100 dollar bill per month and the credit Latonya offered of $25 off my bill was not going to happen.

I AM CANCELLING WITH THAT TYPE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All,

I am sorry for your poor experiences. If there is something I can do by connecting you with SprintCares, I am happy to do so.  Please private message me your name, email, and the link to the thread you would like to discuss with them (or a brief description),  and I will get that information to them.

Thanks,

I have good customer service with sprint they did everything that can where i have a ?.Sprint goes out for they customers they do things that other cell co dont do. If u do cancellation u will have to pay a early cancellation fee so try to stick with it for 2 years n then do what u got to do good luck.

My experience is that Sprint does fix things...but it ALWAYS takes 2 to 4 attempts before they do so. My issue is a case in point. I had a pending plan change, decided to cancel the pending plan change, but Sprint canceled the plan change only for the line which I happened to give them when contacting them to pull up my account.

So now I will have to call again to get it fixed. Then I will have to have my bill corrected. Then next month, if I am assessed data charges on the lines that are supposed to have the data plan but currently do not, I will have to call and get a credit for that.

One little mistake now becomes a huge mess. I already canceled one line last month and paid the ETF. Unforturnately I (foolishly, it seems) also renewed a contract last month as well.

I feel you man, as I am going through a very similar situation. I'm on the verge of cancelling myself. Sprint customer service is a joke. I've been a customer with sprint for close to 10 years and in the last 5-6 years pay them just under $100/month and I am disputing a $100 deductible they want to charge me for a phone that barely worked and they had already agreed to replace, but because there happened to be physical damage to the phone, their store manager bluntly advised me that $100 is not worth sprint keeping me as a customer!!!

Sprint themselves recognize that there is a serious communication flaw between their over-the-phone customer service and their store locations.  Not only that, but communication amongst their internal departments is pathetic.

Yesterday I spent more than 4 hours on the phone with sprint and it was a COMPLETE waste of time. Blame was tossed around like a hot potato.  Not one person documented what was talked about/agreed upon correctly, making sure that every new person I spoke to was clueless as to why/what I was so frustrated about.  It got to the point where I only wanted to speak with supervisors and getting to one is like pulling teeth because everyone wants to be a hero and wants to make sure they've exhausted all resources to help me prior to transferring my call; which they ended up doing anyways. Sprint sure knows how to push people's buttons.  I called frustrated and hung up infuriated.

Sprint's customer service has been horrible as long as I've been with them, but I've continued my service with them because of their pricing. Since sprint is all I've known, I'm unsure whether paying an additional $20/month to someone else is worth it if I'm going to receive the same horrible service. I'm starting to think that part of the reason corporations, such as sprint, are considered to be entities is they show many of the same symptoms we humans show; pride, greed, gluttony, apathy, vainglory, and a COMPLETE lack of common sense; which makes me think that every other company will do the same thing.

Let me know how everything goes with the new provider.  If it's worth it, I'll gladly pay extra money to get better service. If sprint can "rid of me" so easily, it would be rude of me not to return the favor.

I feel you.I have had an issue with sprint where one rep tells me one thing then i call back to follow up because they don't do what they are suppose to and i get a diferent rep and they  tell me a completly different answer.(mind it the calls usually average more then an hour.)If i could afford the cancellation fee i would've already cancelled.Sprint is just not worth it..Yea other carriers are bad but i can't see anybody worse then sprint!!!!!!

Re: Bad customer service causes cancellation. Anyone else?

I used to regularly have bad isue with Sprint billing and got poor support. Wasn't happy with the stringing along with the announcemnt for the Android 2.1 on the Moment.

But I recently got TERRIBLE service (i.e. NONE) at a Sprint Store when I went in to upgrade my phone to either an Evo or a Moment (now that Android 2.1 is out) and possibly add another line.

I was there to buy up to 3 new phones total and I was ignored for a half hour while the store employees jackjawed with their friends and each other. I think this may be it for me.  I am calculating how much it will cost for the early termination fee. If I wait until September, will cost about $180  If I wait until December it will only be $90 so I may go that route.

Still, I really wanted a new phone, so I may eat the ETF and do it the next time I have time to waste at a cell phone store.  Hopefully Verizon won't waste my time like Sprint did.

Re: Bad customer service causes cancellation. Anyone else?

I got four new phones and uped my plan from an old 2000mnt. family plan to a everything data family plan. This was on june 23 the new plan did not start until my month end on july 4.the salesman sold us two samsung seek phones that cant do half of what is on the data plan,we took them back to the store where they charged my girlfriend 35$ to take the phone back then we hade to pay 29$ more for a lg rumor touch. They would not exchange my seek becaus i did not keep the box that it came in i figured the salesman should know what phone to sell us for the plan that he sold us.I have been a customer for over five years,if they do not make this right i will cancel my plan and go elsewhere. It is very stupid on their part to lose a long time customer over a 2$ at most box.  My name is steve my web address is  popetransport@hotmail.com
