Ive been with Sprint since 2004, never had a problem with them until around September 2011 where i started to have very poor signal EVERYWHERE i went. I had an EVO 4G and in my house would only get voicemails because the phone calls would not come in, i used to try to send text messages and they wouldnt leave my phone. i called and they said the were upgrading the towers and that by january everything would be functioning 100%.
With that in mind i decided to add another line to my plan and bought two iPhone 4S when they came out. IT WAS THE WORST MISTAKE IVE DONE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. now im stuck with a monthly bill for a service that i barely get. I have the same issue with the iPhone that i had with the Evo 4G. Dropped calls, Text messages dont leave my phone. Playing Pandora in my car is a royal pain in the behind. i try playing music as soon as i leave my house and by the time i arrive to my destination i hear the music skipping, if any at all because of the poor reception.
in my job, signal is nonexistant. I need to constantly be in touch with my wife since we have a baby daughter and that is almost imposible.
I called the customer service number and a very helpful lady guided in order to restore my phone to factory settings. It did not work.
WHAT CAN I DO TO GET OUT OF THIS CONTRACT?????????????????

This is an extremely frustrating situation and I am sorry you are having these service related issues. With just using the two zip codes provided, I am not finding any issues with the network or service at this time. Have you had your devices looked at by a Sprint Service Technician? I undersatnd that you contacted our tech support department and you went through a reset, but having a tech look at it from a hardware perspective could help determine if it is a phone issue.
thats the same answer I get everytime I mention a problem with the signal. I wasted about 2 hours of my time going to the store and having the Evo 4G tested only to have the technician " there is nothing wrong with your phone".
Its not a problem with the phone, my wife has the same problem/phone. I should have gone to AT&T when i had the chance.
You can be with any carrier but with EVERY carrier you agree that carrier has not promised you service anywhere specific for you to use and service is limited by the fact it’s a radio signal with natural built in limitations (contracts are pretty standard). For every person with any carrier that complains about service there is someone else with another carrier making the same complaint. No service is or will ever be perfect unlike AT&T who doesn't feel like investing in their network Sprint has just reinvested millions into improving and upgrading their network. I prefer a company that wants to improve their service not pocket the money and run like the executives at AT&T.
I have to agree with you, I used to be with AT&T and switched out because my bill was too high and I was getting the worst service. With Sprint, it hasn't been any better either, but at least it isn't as expensive as my bill used to be.
I personally feel every consumer should take control of their cellular choices, don't pick a carrier because they have "the latest phone" or the "lowest rates", pick the carrier that provides you the service you need at the price you want, no one carrier is best for everyone and that is why there are so many.
Yet, what happens when you are a customer who has good service when you sign on, but the service decreases while you are still in your contract? You made a decision to not terminate when you had the 14 day period based on the reception, but due to more customers or a lack of repairs, you are stuck with a cell phone with no reception and no way out? Does anyone think there should be federal or state regulations concerning loss of reception? Not bashing Sprint because all cell companies have service outages. The no promise of service clauses seem to tilt the balance in favor of the corporation over the consumer.
I'm sure the feds and state would say the same thing, no one has forced you into contract, you choose to get service with them and inform you of all the non contract cell phone services out there. The clause is there to protect the business thats why its there. I'm more concerned with the pharm companies dumping drugs into the market that can kill you or cause cancer and the drug is only meant to treat something minor. They have to get approval to put that stuff on the market and they get it all the time, how scary is that!
I've been getting total crap signal everywhere, and to top it off never had WiMAX 4G came to my area which has been promised for the last 3 years since I've joined Sprint. So so disappointed. I want out without ETF but remain as a month to month based user. I've try to talk to the rep but they won't have it. Was pretty rude too.
First if your signal is bad EVERYWHERE you go and not just limited to one area or only in building then you need to take your phone to the a service and repair center and have the radio checked on the device, if they determine its not the phone then check out the coverage of where you are using it with sprint.com, if the signal is Fair where your using it expect what you get, if its Good or Best and the outdoor signal matches then we are talking blocked or dropped calls which you'll need to contact technical support about, if the area is Good or Best and the signal is lower than expected outdoors leading to dropped calls then you still need to call technical support and inform them of that, when you do they can check for current outages or tickets, pull up gathered data from the network and determine what is going on, in a majority of cases that leads to a ticket they put in that goes to the engineering group. Sprint has never personally promised you WiMax, they merely said they were going to expand WiMax over their network until they made a business decision to stop deploying WiMax and go to LTE. If you have a WiMax device I would expect them only to support WiMax for a few more years before they phase that out, they have released LTE ready devices and are going to be getting more. If you are not in agreement I would watch for upcoming LTE devices like the Samsung Galaxy III that Samsung just announced or the new Nexus phone from Google they just got. One more thing if you’re here to post for support I would make my own post vs. trying to jack someone else’s, admins on forums may not check an old post for your issue since it isn’t your post.
well, I have a HTC EVO 3D. When I first got it, I was staying primarly in northern CT, then moved to Southern/Western Mass. Signal was good. But lately, especially in the passed few months, things have gone from good to meh and sometimes even bad. I've been traveling around the country as well, did not improve and some points it got even worst. I was in DC, NY, NJ, IL, and CA, as well as MA and CT. Did not improve at all. (I'm speaking solely of data signal, 99% of the time on 3G). Also, I highly doubt it's my phone, I even try my sister's phone Samsung GS2, same ordeal.
When I was in WiMAX area, I tried to use it but it was totally usesless, kept losing signals and many times things did not load up. I suppose over the three years with Sprint, I might have clocked out at total of 10 hrs of actual 4G data time.
Thanks for your response but I'm not trying to jack anyone post, I'm simply adding more to the thread. I don't expect to get any assistant via the forum, there weren't much over the phone anyway.
So you were having service problems and were told the issues would be resolved in several months, so instead of waiting until January and seeing if the claim was accurate, you upgraded your phone and added another line. It doesn't seem like you made the best decision at all. You'll get out of your contract ETF free in two years from the date you made the upgrade decision I guess. You could pay the ETF, sell the iPhones and then move to another carrier. You might get enough for the iPhones to cover the ETF fees. I would suggest talking with co-workers or friends to see what carrier they are using and if they have coverage where you work/live.
