I purchased new phones on Amazon (and applied for new service) today. During the order process, it asked If I wanted to keep my current number or get a new one. I clicked to keep my number, but it would not let me enter the number or continue with my order. I had to click the new number option to continue the order process.
I was hoping to address the issue when I activate the phones, but I just got an email with the new phone numbers. Does anyone know if I can still port my number?

I would highly suggest calling the 888 number from a landline, since you will have to do some provisioning on your new phone to assign the number to it. You can't do that while you are talking on it!
