My billing

I was billed $75.00 for Sprint Data usage. What is it and how can I avoid accidently using it in the future.

Re: My billing

This is a public forum and we don't have access to your account to see what you're being charged for.  Casual data charges ($0.03/KB) cap out at $75 for Sprint phones (no cap for Nextel phones).  They are either overage charges (when users go over the MB/GB included in a plan/add-on), or, which is more likely, they are incurred when users use data services (such as email, browsing Web pages, downloading pictures sent in text messages from other providers, using apps that access the Internet (e.g. Navigation/GPS), downloading games, ringtones, applications, etc.) but don't have an unlimited data plan or data add-on.  What rate plan do you have?  You can monitor your data and other usage when you log into your My Sprint account and click on "See all usage" for the device you want to look at.  However, the best way to avoid them is to get a data pack or data plan, or be aware of when you may incur data charges and only use those features when you are on a Wi-Fi connection (although your phone may not support the hot spot capability).

There have also been reports from customers getting incorrectly charged for using Picture and Video Mail even though they are on an Everything Messaging plan that includes PM and VM.  If that is the case you would have used up at at least 25 MB for sending/receiving pictures and/or videos.  If you'd like, send me your Sprint phone number via a private message from my profile page, and I'll have a Sprint Cares specialist look at it.

Thank you ClaudiPO,

That was right on. I stayed on the net too long and played with my GPS
