One person in my family plan would like to port their phone number to another service when our contract expires. Will the rest of us (four people) be able to get new phones and renew our CURRENT contract without that fifth line (subtracting ~$10)? We currently have a voice contract from ~6 years ago. Also, is it possible to add back that line if that person was not satisfied with the other service? Thank you!
Yes you will be able to renew the contract and get new phones without the fifth line. You can check the status of your upgrade rebates from this link. https://manage.sprintpcs.com/specialoffers/RebateWelcome.do
Also, if the person with the fifth line doesnt like the other service and decides to come back to Sprint, they can come back and would be treated as a new customer.
The one person wanting to leave Sprint (assuming that is what you're talking about) does not need to wait until the other subscribers' contracts are up. If they do this before their own service agreement is up, they will need to pay an early termination fee depending on how far along they are in their contract but that doesn't impact anyone else. If they port to another wireless carrier, they will need to check out their conditions about any grace periods where they can return the phone for free or a small fee vs. paying termination fees. And yes, OBUSTIN30 is correct, if they were to come back to Sprint, they would be treated like a new customer, potentially paying activation fees again. If they were to open their own account, a credit check would be required.
