Find out what type of router is recommended if there is no Ethernet port on your Cable modem or DSL router

Is there any problems associated with utilizing the Airave with a wireless router and wireless internet service?  Our internet signal to the house is wireless and then we have a wireless router for laptop usage throughout the house.

Re: Find out what type of router is recommended if there is no Ethernet port on your Cable modem or DSL router

The Airave does not have a wireless 802.11 adapter -- it only has a Wired Ethernet port.  You should be able to plug it in to your wireless router - most have a few extra ethernet (RJ-45, the big phone cable lookin things) ports on the back of the box.

Now, your upstream connection to the Internet - is that a 900mhz fixed point wireless system?  Or is it satellite?  (small antenna on the side of the house, or dish antenna pointed at the sky?)

Fixed point wireless should provide enough bandwidth and low enough latency.

Satellite may not work as well.

I moved your post to the Airave forum for better visbility.
