Sprint offers amazing plans when it comes to tablets. Plans range from the basic 1 Gigabyte all the way to 40 Gigabytes. While having a plan and access from away from WiFi is awesome users need to be mindful of just how much bandwidth can be used. Just doing simple things we have been accustom to doing on our phones and even in our homes can eat up wireless plans fast.
Did you know that watching 1 hour of Netflix at its lowest quality will cost you 310 megabytes or 0.3 gigabytes. Stream something in HD and you are looking at 2.3 gigabytes per hour. Stream a TV show through Hulu and it will run you 650 megabytes or 0.65 gigabytes per hour. On Amazon video uses about 850-900 megabytes or 0.85-0.9 gigabytes of Internet data per hour. Streaming along can eat into your monthly allowance of wireless access fast. One way to compensate your use is by setting data limits. These will help save you in the long run.
On the Pixi 7 users will start by accessing the settings menu either by double swiping down and selecting the cog wheel in the top right corner. You can also just select the Application button in the bottom middle and then scroll till you see the setting application and click it. While in the setting application you will select under the section wireless & networks "Data Usage".
Once in the Data Usage section the cellular data radial should be on to allow visibility to the data limit and data warning options. If off please slide the radial on. This will turn on your wireless service to start using the Sprint data network. Once on you will see 2 options grayed out "set cellular data limit" and "set mobile data warning" that if they are off now need to be turned on as well. When turning you will receive the follow warnings.
When both radials are in the on position a graph will appear with two horizontal lines. One line is for the data warning the other is for the data cap you will be creating. Slide the data cap to be at least 10 percent below your full data plan max. If you have a 1 gigabyte plan set your data limit to 900 megabytes and set the warning to maybe 25 percent or 750 megabytes.
Once you hit these marks you can determine how next to use your tablet and know that you will soon be out of bytes to use. Ways to save on usage over the wireless would be to offset this use by using mainly Wifi connections. This will help ease the need for using the wireless data until necessary. Remember while data plans are great it is up to you the end user on how you will use the data given to you. Be cautious and know your limits
