What sets this mobile hot spot device away from others is no cords required. The ALCATEL onetouch Ride-Fi? plugs in to your vehicle's 12v power socket or cigarette lighter for power and has a USB 2.0 plugin available.
Long trips will run down the battery of other mobile hot spots and require the addition of another cable and plug in option in order to maintain power for your Wi-Fi connection. This is where the unique feature of the ALCATEL onetouch Ride-Fi? using DC port to keep it powered up till the end of your trip. I have found ALCATEL onetouch Ride-Fi? come in handy during stormy weather when I lost my ISP services due to the storm. I plugged my Ride-Fi into my laptop and was able to stream weather reports and use my other Wi-Fi devices to weather out the storm. My wife has enjoyed the Wi-Fi connection on her tablet while we are driving around in town....
