LG might look like it has slowed a bit, but that is in no way true. Just recently, and quietly, LG just launched their latest device around the holiday shopping season to gather some interest and I believe they got a lot of interest with their latest device.
Lately other companies started launching folding phones which are supposed to give you a good mix of tablet and smartphone in your pocket. But those are expensive and are using new foldable screen technology that is, well, new and not yet proved itself with reliability and durability. So LG decided to enter this arena with a hybrid approach. The LG G8X is an offshoot of the LG G8 and V50 with an case (sold separately, but free right now with the phone) that "doubles" has a second screen, hence dual screen. All you do is just slide your phone into the case, and viola! you have a foldable dual screen phone.
The second screen is pretty decent, and feels durable. It does make the phone/case a bit bulkier and heavier, sort of like when you might have a wallet case, but not as heavy has a battery case. IT does take a bit to get used to, but it has its benefits, which I will discuss in a later blog. So this is the intro on LG's latest entry. Go ahead and take a look!
