Managing volume?  That's simple isn't it?  Just swipe down and hit 'vibrate' or 'silence' right?  Well, yes, usually, but the Google Pixel 3a handles silent, vibration and sound level just a bit differently. When you swipe down from the top to the quick settings menu, you first notice that there isn't any setting for volume.  Sorry, what?

Yup - no volume setting there.  So, how do you quickly shut the phone up, put it on vibrate or change the sound profile quickly?  There's two neat shortcuts - first, press the power and volume UP button.  That shortcut, by default, will set the phone to Vibrate.  You can manage that in Settings - Sound - Shortcut to Prevent Ringing and set it to Vibrate, Silence or No Action:

If you'd rather manage the volume with the volume keys, that's easy too - when you touch the up or down volume key, a floating panel pops out on the right allowing you to quickly mute, set vibrate, change volume or jump into the sound settings:

The Product Ambassadors are Sprint employees from many different parts of the company that love technology. They volunteer to test out all sorts of Sprint devices and offer opinions freely to the Community. Each Product Ambassador shares their own opinions of these devices, therefore the information in this post does not necessarily reflect the opinions of Sprint. The PA's do not represent the company in an official way, and should not be expected to respond to Community members in an official capacity. #sprintemployee
