It took me a little while to figure out how to enable handwriting on the Note 8. What you need to do is enabling it from the Samsung keyboard. Follow the following steps:
1. Select Settings->General management2. Select Language and Input3. Select On screen keyboard
4. Select Samsung Keyboard5. scroll down enable Pen detection
Once you have done so, whenever you want to input some text the keypad would have the “handwriting” or “keyboard” icons for you to switch between the two modes. I also think if you in input mode, and you pull out the S-pen, the keyboard will automatically switch to handwriting mode:
For the test, I wrote a standard sentence, and the handwriting recognition was 100% correct. What is most impressive, is I can also handwriting in Vietnamese on the dual language Samsung keyboard!
100% correctly recognize my handwrtingEven properly recognizes Vietnamese
I think I will use the S-pen handwriting mode a lot more from now on, as it seems less annoyed with the auto-correction text on the keyboard itself.
Enjoy & Bye for now.
