The feature is supposed to reduce eye strain if you may find the lighting is too harsh for your eyes. So it is a very subjective adjustment and you need to play with it to see which setting would suit you.
The feature can be accessed by select the Display tab of the Settings window:
Switch the comfort view to on:
You are then presented with a number of different options to set your screen display lighting filter:
I played with different settings and use the “low”, “medium” and “high” for one day each. I just felt that the “medium” setting was probably more pleasing for me without really knowing what the actual reason is.
