Just recently activated an Iphone 8 plus from Verizon on Sprint, when the phone is connected to LTE calling & data it no longer displays Sprint in the upper left it now say Extended Network all the time but when I turn off the LTE calling and just have it for the data, "Sprint" re appears in the left. I know I have good service because my Note 8 never goes in to extended network and the phones are next to each other. Nothing seems to be impacted by the change in name, just curious as to why this happens and if there is a fix for it.
On the Iphone 8 plus there is no "enable Volte", you just go to settings and activate LTE for data & voice. Or am I doing something wrong?
VoLTE is available in your area and for the iPhone 8. It's not available on the Note 8. Here's the steps for the iPhone:
1. On the device, open the Settings
2. Select Cellular.
3. Select Cellular Data Options.
4. Select Enable LTE
5. In the Enable LTE, select Voice & Data.
VoLTE requires iOS 12.1.1 or higher.
Awesome to hear. The Note 8 isn't listed in our phones that automatically come with it, so it may have arrived through a software update.
So, have you reviewed your coverage area? Are there any patches of extended coverage around you?
It could be. Unfortunately, there's always a chance that BYODs don't work the same as other BYODs or Sprint branded phones.
