I recently purchased an unlocked iPhone 6s model A1688 to replace an aging iPhone SE already on my account. This model is supposed to be compatible the with Sprint network however the phone will not activate. It briefly shows Sprint service after the SIM card is in it, but then after a few seconds reverts to No Service. Customer Service told me the phone is not compatible, but Apple tells me it is. I see several other topics like this on the closed thread, and replies seem to indicate it was fixed, but no details about how to fix it. Can someone please help - I don’t want to have to pay to ship back a phone if it should work on this network.
Thanks in advance
According to the tool I looked at, there are no restrictions on the 6s. I'm happy to see what I get with the IMEI though. Please send me a private message with the IMEI.
Unfortunately no. I spoke to a tech via PM and they confirmed that although the model number is supposed to work, the MEID is not compatible. They were not able to explain why. I ended up having to return the phone. The best advice they could offer was to request the MEID before purchasing a phone so that it could be checked against the Sprint website for compatibility. I tried that, but no one would give me that info, so I am still without a phone. Good luck and I hope you can figure it out!
