What is up with only having 1x or 1xev for the service status? I have taken out the battery numerous times and still not connected to the blackberry service. I cannot receive email or mms. This is getting old. No need for a blackberry when I cant use the features
Make sure that you're in service coverage area.second step would be is to update the profile on your phone.options-mobile newtwork-menu-update profile or start provisioning.once the provisioning gets completed check if you can see 1XEV.

Try going to MANAGE CONNECTIONS> then once on the mobile network screen press the Blackberry button (the one with the spots) then choose UPDATE PROFILE or START PROVISIONING.
