Sales tax on on Galaxy Note 7 never refunded

After swapping my Note 7 during the first recall for replacement Note 7, I was not charged any fees, as it was an equal exchange. When the recall off the replacement Note 7 occurred, I returned the device on October 16, 2016. I decided to take the Samsung S7 edge because honestly there were no other devices available other than iPhone which was back ordered. I hated this phone (S7 edge) but had to deal with it.

During the exchange transaction, I was appalled at finding out that I had to pay the sales tax on the S7 edge device. I was furious, because what about the $150.00+ dollars in sales tax I paid on the Note 7 device, why couldn't they apply that to the S7 edge's sales tax, which was about $114.00, and refund me the balance. That was not the case. I had to elicit more money again. I was promised to be refunded the Note 7 sales tax, and now 5 months later, and nothing. I've called numerous times, monthly, and only lied to and encouraged to wait, wait, wait. So upsetting that I'm literally BEGGING for my money back.

THIS IS UNFAIR.

Still being played around with by Sprint. Months upon months of BEGGING for my money. I am sure if I did not pay my bill my service would be cut off, but anytime its the other way around, a customer has to suffer. #unfair #lies.

Re: Sales tax on on Galaxy Note 7 never refunded

I am too still dealing with this problem. after chatting and calling and even entering the store to come and find out they cannot find any information on the phone i returned, yet they gave me back the installments on the phone but no tax refund.it is nearing 4rth month past the 3rd billing cycle that they keep telling me to wait. i need some one to reach me as this is plain robbery. you guys want to charge a late fee to us when we pay late. well it should also be vise versa you are holding my money and for each month that goes by you should be charged a late fee. i hate wasting my time chatting, calling and even walking into a store to be told it will take a week, it will be applied to your account on your 3rd billing cycle, it will be in your account after 90 days, we have our specialist working on your case, we will give you a call back to verify when your credit will be applied, or hung up on because most of sprint reps are not trained to deal with this note 7 problem. i am tired of the run around, i love sprint i dont see a better company, but this is just the thing that may just change my mind entirely.

Re: Sales tax on on Galaxy Note 7 never refunded

After months and months and month of reaching out to Sprint yesterday I got an answer. So when I got the S7 edge, I was instructed to pay about $114.00 for the sales tax and was promised to be refunded for the $154.12 sales tax on the Note 7 that I paid.

I found out that there is no record of me paying for the s7 edge device on my Sprint account, so they cannot refund me my $154.12. They claim it would have been automatic if the system recognized it. I told the representative "how did I walk out of the store with the phone then?" She responded "because it was a recall". So the Sprint rep within the store was supposed to use the $154.12 as my sales tax for this s7 edge, and since it was cheaper, I should have been credited back ~$40.00.

I have now come to realize the Sprint store #1701 in Bronx, New York, stole from me in an illicit con. Now I have to forget about ever getting back that $154.12. The supervisor over the phone said she could give me $75.00 and that's it and it would consider the situation resolved, or I could go to that Sprint store....and that where im like "DO WHAT?" All they're going to do is look at my account, and if no documented proof of purchase is on my account, how else will I prove it? I even offerred to show my credit card statement cause the Sprint store charge is there, but that isnt valid. So i just took the $75.00 because I know I lost. I lost this battle for 5 months. Thank you Sprint store $1701 of Bronx, New York for stealing from me.

I want to switch companies so bad now because of this. IM FURIOUS. EXHAUSTED MYSELF FOR 5 MONTHS NOW.

Re: Sales tax on on Galaxy Note 7 never refunded

you have more than enough proof to take it to small claims court and quickly get your money back. and this is exactly what i will do starting april. i have recipts i have bank statements and i have sprint bills to proof i have not yet gotten my refund. after i win in small claims court i will follow a lawsuit. it sucks to admit that this was poorly handled on sprint side to recharge people on sales tax even if they already charged sales tax for the recalled phone.
