How many rings before my phone actually rings?

I have this phone for close to two years. Never had a problem until lately, it takes at least five rings from a caller before my phone actually rings. I tried calling my cell from my landline, using Wi-Fi, same problem. Texting seems to be also delayed. Does anyone have an answer?

This can be a tower problem or a network issue generally it means we know you are on the network but have to search to find the device.   Does it happen mainly at one location or a few or every where.  If a single location code you provide cross streets and city and state  where it happens

i'm not sure it happens when not home. Several people called today and made me aware of the problem. Texting seems to be delayed as well. Just talked to a Sprint rep., she recommended to go to store so they can check if it is my phone or their network.

I believe it's their network.  I've been with Sprint for a long time with several different phones and it takes a long time for my cell to actually start ringing on my end though on the calling end it's been ringing for a good 6 plus rings.
