Samsung S3 for 50 dollars for Black Friday sale but credit card was changed $200+!!

Just an FYI for folks that bought a S3 online.

I discovered that rather than seeing the expected 50 bucks on my credit card, Sprint had charged me 217.  After dealing with the unhelpful people at the Sprint store I called Sprint and discovered that they charged my credit card the incorrect amount, but had credited me 150 on my Sprint account to make it even.  The customer service on the phone was good, but I am still very unhappy that this happened.

The fact is I don’t want a 217 dollar charge on my credit card!!  Come on Sprint.

It may not have been an "instant" rebate and that is the reason you were charged the full amount.  Sometimes they forget to tell you that

In case this was missed in your other posts ~

Hello to all in this forum.  Here's the Updated information regarding Samsung Galaxy S III incorrect charges.

  • Over Thanksgiving weekend, some Samsung Galaxy S III orders were charged more than the $49.99 sale price in the billing system.
  • A team of specialists are working to correct the orders, issue adjustments and submit credit card refunds.

Customers can verify if their order was affected by calling Customer Care, *2 or 888.211.8747, or by private messaging a Social Care rep by clicking on our avatar.  Sprint is working quickly to resolve this issue and customers whose accounts have NOT been reactively credited should see the refunds on their credit cards in 10-12 calendar days depending on their bank, (by December 10th-12th).

We deeply apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone's patience,

Tom Deaver

I see Sprint has reverted back to it's tatics from it's old days.. When did they go back to instead of crediting your card used to make the purchase,  they give you a "service credit"? Here's a fresh idea, how about asking the customer what THEY WANT before just assuming.

Thank you for your feedback.  A credit to the customer's credit/debit card is the appropriate choice in this situation.  Some customer's issues were resolved before this process was in place and may have been "reactively" compensated instead.

Again, we apologize for the confusion,
