Ever since changing my ISP over to the Sprint Data plan, I have not been able to use my SIP softphone to receive calls from my Google Voice account.
My SIP softphone logs in fine to my Callcentric account, and I can log in fine to my Google Voice account (via browser), but when GV tries to call my softphone (through Sprint ISP) to connect to 3RD party, it first times out, then subsequent attempts just get an “Invalid Value” error.
Everything was working perfect with my AT&T U-Verse ISP, but GV gets this error via my Sprint Data Service as ISP.
I use my Sprint Data service with the Netgear Fuse Mobile Hotspot tethered to PC via USB.
Are there settings on my hotspot’s page -- http://myhotspot/index.html -- that need to be adjusted?
Also, I often get “The connection has timed out” when opening a webpage.
And YouTube videos usually end up with audio only.
Connection shows great bandwidth on http://www.speedtest.net/ -- down / up: 19.25 Mb/s / 1.16 Mb/s – which is much more than I had with AT&T.
Good afternoon DD33 and thank you so much for contacting us. Please follow the steps below to update the Profile of the Netgear
Once the profile has been updated try again.
Thanks for the reply,
I tried several times, and also while trying to call via GV, but no luck / same error.
Also, there is no indication of when this update is finished.
Also, been trying to do a Software Update via the Settings > General tab, but keep getting "Update Error
There was a problem updating your device.
Please try again later."
Here are the ping stats which seem fine:
Ping statistics for 22.214.171.124 (Callcentric server):
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 63ms, Maximum = 69ms, Average = 65ms
Hopefully Sprint is not blocking SIP/VoIP packets.
DD33, we'd like to further assist you with your concerns. Please check your inbox, I sent you a Private message.
Also, I often get “Secure Connection Failed” when opening a webpage,
and that got me thinking it might be a FF addon (to do with https).
So tried this GV call with a virgin Firefox profile – to make sure no addons were interfering with GV’s calling – same “Invalid Value”error result.
The reason I posted on this very poorly organized forum was to provide details on a complex issue (difficult to do over the phone). The care teem private message (above) is just a call routing desk that gets your # from you, then calls you, and then connects you with someone who has NO IDEA of the details provided in this forum. The person I was connected with (residential hotspots) could not access my account (business hotspots), and so I told them I would just start over with the support # that came with my device.
