Not sure if this has been mentioned, but if you go to Device Info, More Info, Preferences, Interactive Tests, scroll down to Global Positioning Services, you get the Lat-Long and Altitude of your current position with a timestamp. Maybe useful for fun, future apps, etc.
wow first time I did it I put the coordinates in google maps and it put me at someone elses house across town, second time it put me in a pond 2 towns over! 😕
Another useful feature is the "Ask me each trip" for route style. By default, it always selects "Fastest". However, that may not always be what you want. If you go into "Share & More", then "Preferences", then "Route Style". Select "Ask me each trip" from the menu. This way, the app lets you choose your route style each time you ask for a route.
Another GPS-related goody: When looking at a contact and not in edit mode, tap the contact's street address if one is listed. Google Maps will start and take you to that address.
Is there a list of the "hidden" or "undocumented" codes somewhere? I couldn't imagine how you stumbled across that one noshooz.
Good question Danielle3. Someone here must have an answer..
Use these at your own risk. I'm not assuming liability for anyone playing around with phone codes. 🙂
##GPS# - you all ready know about this one
##TTY# - enables/disables TTY for the hearing impaired
##RUN# - Get the total minutes of usage for the device and total amount of data transferred
There are others but, as a tech support agent, I don't feel comfortable giving them out in a public forum. They are typically only used for troubleshooting and an every day user won't need those codes.
